Buy weapon and frame slots, maybe some orokin reactors/catalysts
Play, learn, you get the majority of non-Prime frames just playing your way round the Starchart.
Prime frames themselves are not a massive upgrade over the non-Prime, and there are no tiers to them.
First find out how things work, what you like playing, then go from there.
If you want my advise, spend those platinum on these:
1st/a.- Forma (to make your loved weapons and also frame better. Farming forma isn't hard, but crafting them.....takes ages and crafting parts which are rare)
1st/b - Orokin Reactor and catalyst to double your mod capacity.
2nd.- Warframe and weapon inventory slots
3rd. - Boosters! (Ressource booster is a blessing and is making your life in the game from "meeeh not again that grind", to a "oh well just that much to craft this weapon? Cool , let's start" :)
Oh, and just to be clear; don't use plat for those. Are both really easy to get. You can farm Rhino early in the game, on Fossa, Venus. And for Nezha, just buy the parts on a Clan dojo.
Right now, there are 36 individual warframes with a 37th coming in the next months. That means that if you want to have access to every frame without having to go through the farm and 3.5 day build again, you need at least 3 dozen warframe slots. The only way to get more slots outside of a few special cases (umbra and some twitch rewarded frames) is to buy them with platinum. It's a relatively small ammount of platinum too, unlike the market cost on most warframes.
There are hundreds of weapons also, which aren't quite as inventory intensive as frames because you won't be keeping all of them, but you will most likely end up with a selection of weapons you've put work into and enjoy using that will grow the longer you play. You'll eventually run out of weapon inventory space annd want to craft a new neat looking weapon and need that plat to get more space.
There are also inventory limitations to sentinels and kavats/kubrows and archwing weapons and rivens on top of those that you might end up to increase. All of these are only gained via plat.
On the up side, all of the inventory increase plat costs are reasonably low so that 500 plat should stretch quite far for you.
Every single warframe in the game is attainable without spending platinum though. All the prime warframes with the exception of excalibur prime (founder only so unattainable now) can also be attained for free with a little patience waiting on some of the vaulteds.
because everyday you login there always something new to play with.
new weapon,warframe,melee
unless if it the 3 days crafting time for warframe. if you can't wait that long i guess it ok to drop some plats to get it ready right away.
you can instantly win the game with godtier warframe like nidus, but yeah you will get bored real fast.
