How to justify any of the syndicates.
I just got to mastery 3 and like to RP in games, and although I'm certainly less concerned with that in a game about space ninja cyborgs, I still would like to fight for a faction that has some moral leg to stand on. But your options are:

One of two cults that believe in one races superiority: Arbiters of Hexis or the Nazis New Loka
One of two terrorists: Steel Meridian or Red Veil
One cult except they worship AI: Cephalon Suda
And some pretty boring business people: Perrin Sequence.

I guess the Perrin Sequence isn't in your face bad, but everybody else embraces what makes them horrible. New Loka seems to have the best stuff (for my playstyle anyways), but that human superiority ideology kills it for me, a lot like the Germanys actually...

Kind of dissapointed that they are all just various flavors of evil or hubris. In Destiny neither of the 3 factions are particularly bad, its just various levels of pessimism. In Fallout 4, none of the factions were perfect, but they all had positives; even in Skyrim I could justify working for the Dark Brotherhood. I know those were dedicated role playing games, but common on. If any of you have played Guns of Icarus, even that game had various evil, but still justifiable factions

tl;dr Every syndicate is a different flavor of evil. Wondering what you guys thought or how you justified it.

I justified it by not caring at all about the extremely flimsy lore connected to the half-baked syndicates, none of which have any lasting (or really even temporary) effect on anything in the world, and all of the missions for which involve doing the exact same thing you do on your own anyhow.

But, also? I don't think steel meridian really counts as "terrorists". Their whole schtick is supposed to be fighting the grineer and trying to protect human colonies

New Loka is a bunch of annoying space nazis preaching about purity but lacking it themselves, and pretty much seek to create a perfect existence on an ideal that doesn't exist anymore. Granted, in the Silver Grove they begin reforming to be less extremist, but that's the last we've heard of them. I, can't really justify working for them other than they sell nice things.

The Perrin Sequence has never done anything wrong except bribe the Tenno to destroy Ambulas in one telling of events (Operation: Ambulas Reborn) but in the current rendition (Hades Node boss fight) they simply ask the Tenno for help in an elaborate plan. Some call Ergo's buisness dealings with a group that's much farther than in with you morally wrong, others would say it doesn't matter as that's how that group lives. The Sequence works to foster peace and prosperity in the system and take an active role in that, believing that a peace would produce a better economy and lead to less suffering systemwide.

The Red Veil destroys those they feel are inpure in the system, which mostly translates to slaughtering the Grineer, the Corpus, the Infested, and the Corrupted. Which is pretty beign, all considered. They also are extremists in the form of kidnapping defective Grineer to try and understand how to use their physiology to weaponize against the mainline Grineer, something even I can't justify. So I kill them when they do that. Have I mentioned they're my bosses?

The Steel Meridian destroys the Grineer. They rescue Grineer that reject the Grineer's evil empire. They literally are classic good guys as far as I know. To call them terrorists to call a police officer a soldier of chaos (not order.) That's all they do.

Cephalon Suda collects data. She doesn't do much with it as far as I know, but she collects data. She mostly does it to prevent a catasrophic data loss in the system regressing humanity to a lower state.

The Arbiters of Hexis believe the Tenno are gods in the making and seek to emulate them as a form of worship or something. They're really cult fanatics who worship the most powerful people in the system as gods, nothing really wrong in what they do, other than some find them stupid.

SM is the shield while RV is the sword. SM fight to protect the innocent while RV fight to kill. THere also something Wrong with RV they seem to suffer some insanity like they were expose to the Void. PS aren't greedy well Ergo Glast isn't that for sure. He prefer peaceful way of getting profit. NL yeah well atleast they have a very good shotgun. CS Want to preserve history or something like that. While HoA doesn't see the Tenno just as Assassin and Warrior they see more potential

Good things about the syndicates:
Steel Meridian: Help the weak and poor
Arbiters of Hexis: Train to be the very best like no one ever was
Cephalon Suda: Gather all knowledge you can
Perrin Sequence: Peace through trade and diplomacy
Red Veil: Kill bad things
New Loka: Unite everyone under one race

Bad things about the syndicates:
Steel Meridian: This is their only goal, and it doesn't extend to Corpus
Arbiters of Hexis: You can't use your frames for mass-murder
Cephalon Suda: Gather all knowledge, using any methods
Perrin Sequence: Trade is boring to some, and everybody hates them because Glast refused to break a community's culture
Red Veil: Can become corrupted easily (Chains of Harrow)
New Loka: Pretty much nazis

While we're at it, should we not question the morals of the Tenno themselves? Why bother debating over which syndicate has the moral high ground when the Tenno effectively slaughter an entire Grineer gallion in hopes of finding a part/resource to further expand their arsenal of means to slaughter more Grineer gallions? They're just doing their job, man. They don't need somersaulting hula-hooping cosmic wizards killing them without remorse.

to answer your question though cephalon suda trumps all

Just because Red Veil regulary tortures their enemies to death because it's a fun thing to do doesn't mean they should be called terrorists, psychos or similar. I think they would rather prefer the term 'free thinkers'.

If you have to choose based "who's a good guy" I would go with Steel Meridian, they have helped the system a lot, protecting the free colonist, helping defectors from the grineer empire, and they have Clem. :Madison:

All we of the Red Veil really want is to purge the evil that corrupts our galaxy, with that done, we may then begin anew, free of this corruption that hinders us.
