Hek vs Vaykor hek

Which is better and why?

I keep getting told the vaykor is better, but, with the sydnicate mod doubling the heks damage again, it just massively out damages the vaykor.

vaykor hek will tend to pull ahead in damage output just because of it actually having usable crit stats, which opens up the potential a lot. but the regular hek with augment isn't really all that far behind. you can just kind of use either, especially if you don't have primed ravage (crit damage)

I don't have primed damage, but I have both. Both are maxxed rank, and I only have so much former, which do I buy a riven for (or will a riven work on both?) and which do i put my forma into>?

riven works on both, and vaykor is better especially once you get better/more expensive mods into it.

The syndicate mod might be useful, but it also takes up a mod slot. So whichever shotgun you use could just depend on your build. I feel like the Vaykor's doubled clip size will make up for the lack of doubled multishot from the Scattered Justice mod it can't use, and the extra necessary shots could be compensated for with another mod for fire rate or clip size, if not something else.

a riven works on both and I do not suggest buying one for either. the disposition is so bad that it takes a VERY good roll of stats for it to even be worth the slot. I guess if you get punchthrough on it, which doesn't normally take much to be desirable and the alternatives for kinda suck, any other stats can just be sort of nice bonuses though.

but if you're worried about things like lack of forma, I REALLY do not recommend trying to squeeze rivens out of these.

What weapons are good?

There are very few primaries I actually enjoyed using. The stradavar was pretty cool, is that worth investing in?

the normal heks augment also has this effect

Vaykor hek is better if you ahve primed ravage maxxed without it your best off sitting with the hek

If you like rifles, the Tiberon Prime and Supra Vandal are both good.

Aw man that really sucks. You could try out the regular Supra to see if you like it, and then just wait for Baro to come back with the Vandal. My other suggestions for primaries would be the Baza, Phantasma, and Ignis Wraith.

Hek has a bad disposition, but disposition doesn't say anything about a weapon's overall stats.

The Hek is one of those low-disposition weapons that is good enough to not really need a riven. Just build it properly and it'll be fine.

phantasma is one i checked out. Can't remember if I liked it lul.

phantasma is one i checked out. Can't remember if I liked it lul.

It's a nice status beam-shotgun and I liked how it virtually has no reload time, so it could make for a great corrosive shotgun. But it didn't really wow me personally, at least not enough to catalyse it. Maybe there's a good build for it out there that I'm not aware of
