Even though I actually do like bows more (Rakta Cernos is my baby)...this is just a stupid statement and completely incorrect. They aren't called shotguns because they "do da boom boom" they are called shotguns because they are loaded with shot. The "shot" refers to the pellets contained within shotgun shells.

Although at this point, based on your replies, you are memeing. So, eh.

then Dread and Daikyu are kinda personal preferrence, either slah crit or puncture status.
Problem with Daikyu is that it cannot fire unless it is fully charged. Which is dumb imo as it is not a compound bow, it is a normal bow .
Compoud bows have limit of how much you can pull the arrow back and that's how it's used for consistency as you always pull it to the max.
Regular bows are as strong as person firing it is, compoud bows have those wheels that transfer energy and you get stronger shot with less of a pull.

There is no logic in Daikyu having such limitation.
That is why daikyu is not high-end, at least imo, if they remove that then it can be viable to contest for second place, otherwise Dread is low level decapitator that is viable on any level

I wish they implement a compound bow in game, bit long charge, can only be fired when fully charged but has alpha damage of gods, ultra fast arrow and is pinpoint accurate.
Guessing Lenz is kinda compound

also Attica counts as bow and has riven disposition of 5. I've built mine, it is absolutely insane.

wish they implement one-shot crossbows
You can totally release mid draw with a compound. Depend on your Cams setup you can release an arrow with a short draw while having the same energy with a longer draw. Compound is not equal better than tradition bow. A compound can have up to 160lb draw weight which is comparable to some historical warbow, modern longbow can have a draw weight of 185lb. The biggest different between a compound and a traditional bow is energy storing efficiency. A traditional bow store very little energy in the first half of a draw while a compound reach max energy very quickly within the first few mm of drawing.

In a sense the Daikyu drawing mechanic is in line with traditional longbow shooting. You draw a longbow as far as your cheek then release, you don't release mid draw due to poor energy storing efficiency.

Just fun fact, having nothing to do with fantasy bows... :steammocking:

This thread...

Proves that Cernos Prime rules above all.
It's both a Shotgun and a bow. Only surpassed by Artemis, which is an exalted Bhowtgun

While I have to agree that the Cernos Prime is fair competition for the Daikyu it's still slightly inferior due to it's drop-off and limited range.

My one problem with Cernos is it didn’t feel like it had the same punch through as other bows, wasI doing something wrong?

I know you can release compund whenever you want but point of it is being able to have that consistency meaning that every max pull will produce near identical shot.
Which you cannot do with traditional bow, it comes down to you "feeling it" which can be subjective considering that string can get loose and limbs do not effect shots with equall strength because they have no cams to compensate for lack of perfection.

so that was my logic behind it, I know both are possible but for me it makes more sense to have traditional bows left to player's feeling and not limiting them to "max" pull which does not even exist - you and I will have different max pull on the same traditional bow.

Compound bow has that max pull and as such it would make sense in terms of gameplay to have it like that - fully charged or not worth firing.

Just in temrs of gameplay - why do all traditional bows can be fired whenever you desire without fully charging the shot by somehow Daikyu cannot?
And only other bow that cannot be fired unless fully charged is Lenz - which is probably some kind of magnetic reincarnation of a compund bow, at least judging by the design.
Instead of cams you have some magnetic thing acting like it, it makes sense as it is corpus design and they do that ♥♥♥♥ with magnetic induction a lot

Daikyu should have 1.5k damage base (slash pref) and a 50% crit chance if you want that thing to be worth its MR lock

youa re forgetting it has the hghest status chance from all bows, meaning that alpha damage cannot be too high as you can do easy status and A LOT of damage

you know what else has alot of status? literally most of the auto rifles that are worth the forma (Braton Prime and Zenith primarily)
Status on bows is a moot point outside of Viral because while yes, Bows do good amounts of damage, the Daikyu falls short because the Dread, Paris Prime, Attica, Zhuge and Lens can do stupid damage.

wiki actually says it has second highest damage, behind Lenz.
and it has op riven polarity

If that's the case, why do I still see more of the aforementioned mentions?
Also, I can't expect everyone to have godly Daikyu rivens, that's just wholy unrealistic
