Even though I actually do like bows more (Rakta Cernos is my baby)...this is just a stupid statement and completely incorrect. They aren't called shotguns because they "do da boom boom" they are called shotguns because they are loaded with shot. The "shot" refers to the pellets contained within shotgun shells.
Although at this point, based on your replies, you are memeing. So, eh.
In a sense the Daikyu drawing mechanic is in line with traditional longbow shooting. You draw a longbow as far as your cheek then release, you don't release mid draw due to poor energy storing efficiency.
Just fun fact, having nothing to do with fantasy bows...
Proves that Cernos Prime rules above all.
It's both a Shotgun and a bow. Only surpassed by Artemis, which is an exalted Bhowtgun
Which you cannot do with traditional bow, it comes down to you "feeling it" which can be subjective considering that string can get loose and limbs do not effect shots with equall strength because they have no cams to compensate for lack of perfection.
so that was my logic behind it, I know both are possible but for me it makes more sense to have traditional bows left to player's feeling and not limiting them to "max" pull which does not even exist - you and I will have different max pull on the same traditional bow.
Compound bow has that max pull and as such it would make sense in terms of gameplay to have it like that - fully charged or not worth firing.
Just in temrs of gameplay - why do all traditional bows can be fired whenever you desire without fully charging the shot by somehow Daikyu cannot?
And only other bow that cannot be fired unless fully charged is Lenz - which is probably some kind of magnetic reincarnation of a compund bow, at least judging by the design.
Instead of cams you have some magnetic thing acting like it, it makes sense as it is corpus design and they do that ♥♥♥♥ with magnetic induction a lot
Status on bows is a moot point outside of Viral because while yes, Bows do good amounts of damage, the Daikyu falls short because the Dread, Paris Prime, Attica, Zhuge and Lens can do stupid damage.
and it has op riven polarity
Also, I can't expect everyone to have godly Daikyu rivens, that's just wholy unrealistic
