??? What? How is that "trolling?" This happened to me just now. Couldn't kill enemies, could not do anything, he kept on spamming this ability.
Kill anything inside it.
Hang out in the bubble.
????
Kill more things that get inside it or breach the barrier.
????
Profit.
Seriously though, with the exception of a few maps with environment based interactions needed to progress, most issues with Limbo are the result of people refusing to work with Limbo.
Cause Stasis no longer freezes projectiles.
I dont know, he just kept on spamming one of his ability and I couldn't kill anything, nor grab loot (the loot would actually stay on me floating till the effect ends so I could grab it)
Melee wouldn't work, nor bullets, my Warframe was like shining and his effect would stay for 40 seconds >.>
Roll.
- Cannot grab loot = Cataclysm allows player to take loots, except being banished, in which case just roll to get out from the rift plane.
- Cannot kill anything = Limbo Stasis no longer halts projectile, Warframe ability affects enemies inside and outside rift.
Seems like to me you don't understand how Limbo and the rift plane works.
I dont, but I know that Limbo can be really annoying, and I didn't know that I could switch planes by my own, since this game do such a great job at explaining things.
Thanks, now I know how to deal with this kind of stuff.
If Limbo is spam banishing enemies, you should still be able to kill with ability damage.
That is one way of looking at it... however, given that Limbo is the only frame that requires people to change the way they play in order to "work with limbo", there is a clear issue with the mechanic, not the players.
How many other frames make it so that you need to perform some non-standard action just to be able to damage enemies?
How many other frames can remove your capability of dealing any weapon damage to so many enemies at once?
It's fairly clear that most issues with Limbo are the result of people playing Limbo in a way that negatively impacts other players.
Most of the time that's just due to the mechanic of banishing things to the void.
Some of the time it's due to people deliberately playing Limbo in that way simply to interfere with others.
The recent changes have taken steps to limit the potential for abuse of Limbo's mechanics, but it's stil possible for an unskilled or trollish player to negatively impact others' gameplay with Limbo more than with any other frame.
If you have vacuum on a sentinel, drops will just float behind you until you can pick them up. However, not everyone uses a sentinel.
OR, since both in Lore and Mechanics, Limbo is meant to change up the game, maybe it's not a clear issue with the mechanic, but the players?
LImbo's rifts add a completely new layer to strategy for many map types. I was able to 2 man a high level defense map to 30 because the Limbo with me kept his field up, all we had to do was run around the edges of the field and kill enemies as they stepped into it. Not sure if anything is nearly as game changing as that. The lore to introduce Limbo even perfectly fits the player drama behind him. Rifts change up the way you can do things and it's literally "walking to a dance to which he's made up his own tune", as our Cephalon happily notes.
How many other frames give you an optional buff you can remove with a single button press? I'm just rewording this to what it actually is. Since there's literally only one move that does that and pressing your roll button instantly takes you out of it.
for that matter if we look at ash or loki they often go invisible which direct enemies to their other teammates as they go for kills. not a problem for people who know how to fight, normally but for the ones who do theyll be swarmed and die as more players often mean more mobs.
limbos case is that he directly takes control of most enemies in the mission and as such both the user and the teammate need to atleast understand some bits of info about limbo.
an example of a good play with limbo is: limbo banishes mesa. mesa has a lot of energy and uses peacemakers to go through mobs safely for a fair amount of time, until they all die or until the player runs out of energy. when they are done the mesa can simply go out of the rift by rolling and get back in the fight.
limbo can also allow teammates to recover energy, the most noteworthy frame he works with in that aspect being equinox who can channel auras while gaining energy from the rift.
like everything else in this game its about team composition and knowing what everyone around you can do
edit:
also for that matter, most example of bad sync with limbo were before stasis was changed.
the combo of mirage and limbo would counter each other heavily with limbo blocking mirages' attacks and mirage and he clones breaking stasis
Creative use of powers isn't breaking the game, it's finding new ways to play it. Work with your Limbo, don't fight it.
