It's not funny, it's not clever, and you're a tool if you type it.
um....I don't even understand it. I have no idea where it originated from, all I know is that it's a joke, I don't fully understand it. and now 100% of my communication is gone
Definition: "a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another."
Way to be a racist. I bet this kind of trash doesn't get banned in chat but is probably cheered on.
How many times have you caught a ban for saying Nezha is a trap, I'm guessing double digits.
That aside, I don't really think bringing up skin colour makes their statement racist. Unless you are someone who goes "Actually NOT ALL MEN/Straight-people etc".
Also, it's debatable whether the term "trap" itself is offensive or not, but Nezha is based on Chinese Mythology. In his Mythology he is often portrayed as a child/young teen, hence his androgynous look. Also, some of the garb he wears can look rather feminine. Kind of like how our operators don't really look like either gender, because they're children.
To explain the meme: Trap usually refers to male anime characters that dress as girls. There is several anime in which the main, male, protagonist falls in love with a "girl" only to later realise that "she" is a guy. Awkwardness ensures.
It is also a term used by crossdressers to self-identify, though it can have negative connotations. Sometimes it negatively refers to crossdressers (or even trans people) and accuses them of "trapping" people into intercourse by pretending to be a gender that they are not. (which, in terms of trans-people is incredible offensive).
DE tries to keep their chats clean, as such they block a lot of words and put filters to avoid hate-speech and such. Whether you agree with that or not is up to you.
General rule of thumb: Don't post memes in region chat. Even better, don't use region chat at all, and simply use clan chat in the future.
and yeah, I'm white, but that doesn't mean I have to put up with or excuse other white people being absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage.
(To clarify, while I personally have no problem with the banning of annoying memes from public chat channels, and think that doing so is largely good for the community, it is an established fact that the reason behind the chat bans is to push a sociopolitical agenda rather than to keep the community clean, and the severity of the current punishments, with no prior warnings that you have used a word or phrase that is not permissable, is nothing short of draconian.)
Congrats, you win nothing.
leaving politics aside, common sense would have you not blurt out stupid memes and jokes in your family/workplace's messaging app groups without recieving permission to do so first or knowing your crowd. just as you would not angrily shout someones name in a train whilst expecting no attention. if you know people arent interested in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke/meme , whats the point?
I wish....but nope, I don't think you people understand what "discriminating" means! If you just follow the rules and ignore all the social stuff if you are being condesending to a white (as a black) you're racist. No color is iimune from being racist, not black, not american indians, not chinese, any one can be racist. If you so much as make another person look lower than you, you're racist, now of course this is just looking at the rules of how racism works....but any ways, The fact that you (grimminski) hightlighted the creators of this nezha is a trap joke as being white, makes it sound like that they are "dumber than a bag of hammers" because they are white, which emmediatly makes you sound racist.
I maybe wrong, but that's what it sounds like to me.
and to finish off what I was saying up top...white people are not the only racist ones.
And yes, bringing up their race, for no reason other than to hate, is slightly racist. I don't care. I am a white guy myself, and I am not easily offended like 90% of our world today. Just stating something.
