You were given a focus lens for the school you chose during the second dream. Go to a rank 30 weapon/warframe > upgrade > actions > focus lens on the far right. This will allow you to slot your focus lens onto your weapon/warframe and turn any excess affinity you get for that weapon/warframe into points for that school.

Something I would like to mention:

Since it's only a basic focus lens, it doesn't have a very good affinity-to-focus ratio to it. Greater focus lenses and Eidolon (the best focus lens) focus lenses have a much greater ratio, meaning you get more focus points for the affinity you receive.

Greater focus lenses can be bought for 40 platinum or crafted via specific blueprints found on the market.

Eidolon lens blueprints are obtained as a rare reward from high level bounties on the plains of Eidolon. They require a Greater Focus lens and breath of the eidolon to craft. The eidolon lens will be for the school the greater focus lens was for.

You can uptick that if you do Sanctuary Onslaught and manage to get deep into the Sanctuary. ;)
