Chat Rules: Official banned words list?
If you're going to have certain words with a 24hr-1 week chat ban from an auto-ban script, at least tell us what the words are. The guidlines are unhelpful: by its standards, literally ANY word could mean a ban. If we could get a full list of all words that equate to a ban, I feel like it would solve alot of confusion and make many players more comfortable. I'm sure most players would follow those rules, but we have to know what they are first.

On that note, when an auto-ban is handed out, it would be really nice to get a time notification, a count down, anything. The simple, unexplained "your access to in-game chat has been suspended" really isn't helpful

simple rule is - don't be an idiot. If you came to region chat to be on "edge" to insulting people and spamming unconstructive posts such as "traps are(not) gay" then you should not be there.
If you have questions related to the game, or gameplay, or you need some info on dates and whatever then region chat can be helpful.
that goes for politics, region chat is made as quick help for people, it is cancer as every other region chat but at least it has useful commands for people who know how to use them - really helpful for newbs (when Baro, where Nova etc)

Any word can mean a ban if you abuse it's meaning, like, abortion is not really a bad word, but if I tell you that you are a inbred failed abortion then I kinda deserve a ban.

Rule 1 - don't use regon chat
Rule 2 - if you ignore Rule 1 then just don't be an idiot, you can have a joke without that

Posting exact list of rules would simply make people invent new ways to avoid them. Posting anything else is as good as "don't be a jerk".

Warning for new people would be nice, I guess, but the system as is gives people time to reconsider their attitude, maybe even think before trying to fill chat with garbage next time.

Better yet, set off global chat forever

I'm gonna side with No_Quarter on this. The overwhelming majority of people who get banned fall under one of 2 categories:

1)They're idiots who shouldn't be using anything internet-based without adult supervision (either mom or a 6'2" individual who has a black belt in judo).

2) They're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (like your's truly) who shouldn't be given a platform to speak unless they make an effort to play nice.

It's not hard at all to use your brain and avoid being stupid. It's a little bit more work (but not much, talking from experience here) to not be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If you can't be bothered to do one or the other, you shouldn't be using chat or forums and mods are (usually) in the right with banning you.

Keep it civil in public chats. You can sh*tpost with likeminded people in clan chat.

Exactly! It's all about knowing your audience.

And that's all I'm asking for: some kind of help as to what the audience is. dropping a meme here and there isn't edgy in 90% of the internet, nor is it rude. Generally, in fact, its accepted. If DE of warframe wants to be more strightlaced, that's all well and good, but they need to tell people that. Clear boundaries, clear rules are easy to follow.you'd end up with less bans and less spam if the rules were more clear. Maybe a words list isn't the greatest plan, but there needs to be SOMETHING. A notification as to how long the ban is going to be and why it happened, for starters, and thats the basics. all you need is a script or two more and suddenly your system is 110% better. These unexplained bans for undeclared time periods are exceptionally lazy, and, frankly, insulting. I'm not a child, I'd prefer not to be treated as one, especially in an M rated online game of all places

Also, I'd like to add that Warframe's official policy states that "warning points visible to the player will be assigned prior to a 3 day ban, then followed by longer and longer bans. it says absolutely nothing (that I could find) about instant, unwarned unexplained 24hr-1wk bans. Nowhere. I had to go to the forums to find out about that. If DE is going to update their procudures, they need to update their policies as well, just like everybody else

clear rules make it easy to bypass and do more stupid things.
region chat is a no no for "memes" (at least what people currently consider a meme, da wae bs), but if you got a healthy meme, a joke that takes more than 2 neurons to be created and tha tis somehow linked to what people are talking about then you will probably be fine (depending on levels of racism and whanot there as politics are also no no)
Dropping random memes will get you banned as, as region chat is random as is, they try to keep the conversation on topic of the game.

"dropping" midless sentence aka "the meme" - "do you nou da wae" deserves a ban, gulag and chemical castration...

no one was banned for nothing, so no need for explaining really, every ban people got they know what was it for. No need for such "rule" really, everyone who complains on forums that they do not knwo why they got banned - none posted response they've got from support.
so by stats, all we see are salty people full of stories they've made up

How hard really is it to either
1) ignore region chat
2) use it for game related topics

there is thumblr for edgelords, there are social networks to take a dump on kb and call it a status, so many places to be edgy, 9gag, why in hell do you have desire to do that in a video game's region chat?
there are clans in this game, one clan spams 90869876 times per day saying they have top class memes around, like why not join your people and not risk anyhting?

You clearly dont understand the point of the person I was responding to and agreeing with was (in which case, your parents seem to have failed you or common sense really is misnamed).

Or you don't want to and are just looking to ♥♥♥♥♥ (if this is the case, I'm still taking the bait to instruct people who actually are as clueless as you're pretending to be).

dropping a meme here and there isn't edgy in 90% of the internet, nor is it rude. Generally, in fact, its accepted.

Calling someone who does something bafflingly stupid "retarded" or "autistic" is also generally accepted (even if we publically admonish it, people still do it with the only person(s) offended generally being the object of ridicule and anyone with a famly member with some form of autism or mental handicaps), in real life even. That doesn't mean you're supposed to or that it's ok to (personally, i just call stupid stupid and be done with it).

The point is, dont try to get away with with ♥♥♥♥ if you dont know your audience.

If DE of warframe wants to be more strightlaced, that's all well and good, but they need to tell people that. And here is where I address the "your parents failed you" remark. See, they basically did in their code of conduct (which is basically a document where they say "be polite to others" but really mean "dont be an ass"). Think about how you are supposed to act in in public (say a grocery store) vs how you can act at your friend's backyard bbq.

You're not gonna be telling that joke about what Pontiac (an american car make for those who don't know) is an acronym for in the waiting room of the doctor's office, but when you and your S/O show up to your friend's house for dinner you might (depending on how well you know that friend)hold up the bottle of wine you brought and ask if dago red is ok.

I assume you can figure out which one is global chat and which one is clan chat.

You don't need clearly defined boundries and ground rules, you just need to use your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain. If your brain doesn't know how to act in public, you shouldn't be using public chat.

A notification as to how long the ban is going to be and why it happened, for starters, and thats the basics. all you need is a script or two more and suddenly your system is 110% better. These unexplained bans for undeclared time periods are exceptionally lazy, and, frankly, insulting.

Fair enough.

I'm not a child, I'd prefer not to be treated as one, especially in an M rated online game of all places

Then don't act like one. Its a fairly simple concept.

I mean I've made worse jokes than that while on the clock with my boss, but whatever. These things aren't nearly as cut-and-dried as you seem to think

"Official banned words list?"

Anything that would upset an overweight woman with pink hair and a long list of mental illnesses
