Many planets and different tile sets.
Free, fun, no toxic people ( personally haven't encountered any) and safe for newbies.
Are the cosmetics good? what do you pay for?
I hated Warframe greatly back in 2014 because it was all about corridors and everything looked the same as if they copied and pasted everything
You all are saying now it has different planets, tilesets and stuff? it can compete with Destiny 2 visual wise now?
You can try both games.
Warframe is free, with a great monetization model that is fair to the players.
Destiny 2 has a free version where you can play up to level 7. (I played it and decided to stick to warframe).
I didn't buy Destiny 2, but from what I have heared is that there are micro transaction on top of the initial cost of the game, and that those microtransations are not very friendly to players as there are a lot of complaints about it.
While the corridor things on maps still, their tileset changed drastically in the newer maps, some nodes are more open-ish, other are full closed. They also added recently an "Open-World".
As why it makes Wf "better"? Because it's free, if it was paid, nobody would say it.
You might be pleasantly surprised by the changes.
I disagree with that it is only because warframe is free.
I'd buy warframe if it was a buy to play game (bought platinum several times to support DE for that reason).
After playing the destiny 2 trial I decided to uninstall it.
Warframe. ive been playing it for 5+ years, the devs actualy care about their player base and constantly expand upon it, aswell as reworking old systems.
Even if warframe was pay to play and destiny 2 was 100% free i would still recommend warframe.
There are multiple tilesets with more allways in the work, we currently have the plains of eidolon which is an open area map, with another open area zone being worked on as we speak.
It really is no contest which is the superior game, i WANTED to love destiny 2, i wanted to play it so much as i could never play destiny 1, i was hyped to hell to play it.
That hype and excitement died with in a week, i still log in occasionly, but compared to warframe its an empty shell which is ran by a dev team that Nickle and dimes every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aspect of the game.
Warframe a FREE to play game. Feels like it is less hampered by microtransactions than destiny 2.
As someone who has 2100+ hours in warframe and has played destiny 2 as much as i could bear. i hope this helps.
Whenever i buy platinum or prime access on warframe, i never feel ripped off or like i didnt get my value from my money, and DE are amazing and i dont mind supporting them.
Bungie however have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful RNG loot box microtransactions that nickle and dime you even for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1 use shaders, Colours in warframe are permanent unlocks for example.
Even though warframe is a free to play game they value your money and time more than bungie ever will.
As for which is better, Warframe.
- There's no loot box BS pushing you to buy stuff and giving you random rewards. All purchases give you exactly what you paid for, and it's actually possible to make Platinum in-game by opening relics and trying to sell the stuff you get from them to other players.
- The developers are pretty decent at seeing when something doesn't work and trying to tweak it to make it better.
- The gameplay is faster and more frantic, allowing you to ninja flip all over the place.
- All gameplay stuff (except for slots to store weapons and warframes) can be earned in-game by building them with resources you pick up in missions.
- There are 33 different warframes (ie classes) to make, so there's a ton of options for how to play.
Not to mention that Destiny 2 is dying a slow death right now because of outrage over the loot boxes being the primary focus for all big events, terrible developer responsiveness over issues that most player complain about (example: Players complain for months that PVP takes too long to secure a kill and that they want to sprint faster, Bungie just makes walking speed faster, makes everyone but the "speed class" jump faster, and calls it a day), and their big paid DLC expansion was largely considered a huge failure.
If you want a really good review of it, look up Skill-Up's review on youtube.
In any case, Warframe is free, so you lose little by trying it again.
There's a bunch of "shader" things you can buy for 5 bucks each that you can use on everything and they aren't used up when you do so. Want to color your warframe wacky colors with them, right down to the color of your abilities? Do it. Wanna color your gun right down to the color of your bullets, do it. Wanna color your ship on the inside and out? Do it!
Personally, I found the "Saturated colors" one to be a very good investment as it has a ton of varied colors.
You can also buy skins for weapons and warframes, different helmets (some of which can be earned in game), and twirly capes called Syndanas. Oh, and the community keeps making more neat skins, which the developers can choose to implement into the game and give some of the money to the person who actually made the neat skin.
You can also pay to buy weapons and frames without building them, but really, you should keep your money for cosmetics and slots. It actually is more fun to earn most of the stuff without buying it.
Destiny forced you to buy 3 expansions to keep playing the game, about $180, with destiny 2 you will do the same, you will be force to spent a hundred an eighty dollars for another dead console always-online game.

You should consider The Division as a third option if you have not played it yet. It has improved A LOT over time.
