I have not unlocked Sortie missions yet, and it is the only mission I still have to complete for these missions before refreshed.

Is it possible someone can invite me on a Sortie mission?

Nope, requirement is you need War Within completed.

If you are referring to a node you have not unlocked - yes, people can invite you and taxi you for anything. If you unlocked Sortie missions and did The War Within then people can taxi you to Sortie mission that is on a node you have not unlocked yet.

But if you have not unlocked Sorties as a whole then people cannot invite you in it - you will be auto-kicked before mission starts.

Don't worry about it, the season ends in a few months. By then, you should have sorties unlocked and DE designed nightwave so that if you miss a few challenges, you will get them again after completing the challenges you have for that week. So you'll be able to do that challenge later on in the season.
