usually, cosmetic items can be purchased in-game with platinum... how you get that platinum is up to you :
- trade for it in-game for free
- buy it with real money

If it has gold in it, it's most likely prime cosmetics that can only be bought with real money.

If you are talking about the Saita Prime and Commodore Prime suits, those are Prime Accessories and you need to wait for their Prime Accesses to come out again.

They can only be bought with real cash.

Well you gotta pay for any cosmetics that are not craftable in the game. Warframe is a closed system. Meaning someone purchased that platinum you are using to buy those. You just got in trade for a item.
