Is the black colour really locked behind microtransactions?

srsly... I must be missing something. Is there a way to unlock the black colour without paying? I want to be an edgy ninja.

So, some people freak out over not having instant access to BLACK? DE is giving away color palettes left and right on most of the holidays, the Smoke Colors pack was a very common Twitch drop at the release of PoE.
It's not microtransaction if you can get the currency without paying actual money, do some ingame stuff, even the most common mods can be sold for 5-10 plat each, certain mods go for 15-20. You can get the required 75 platinum in a matter of hours.
Mastery Rank 2 is easy to reach, you can reach it on the second day of your carreer, from there, ask around Region chat for someone to teach you how to trade, I guarantee there will be players helping you right away.
Of course, I agree, the "Classic" color pack should be unlocked by default, since it has the least special colors.

No its not locked behind a pay wall.....only an idiot who doesnt play this game thinks that.

Once a year sometimes more....many palletes and costume items are rewarded or sold for 1 credit.

If you play you can get the stuff.....if you dont play....you thnk everything is a pay wall and whine alot.

IN addition many things go to you free for simply logging in each day.

No they dont tell you with a giant sign....they dont spoon feed you every single thing.

You actualy have to be active and look.....small children and babies are not catered on this game...thus it actualy requires you to do more then drop cash and get instant end level.

"As far as you can tell...." ??? Where are you looking at? That color palette is not available now at all. You can't even see it now to say it costs plat.

you can still look pretty decent even with the starter colours and the colour paletes are great value considering how much you get out of them
really the system de has is one of the best ive ever seen if you also take into consideration that yes this is a free to play game they have to monotize it someway

that being said seasonal colour paletes are 1 credit XD and the one baro ki'teer brings sometimes looks pretty nice if you like the pastel look
