how to make fish spawn?

i stood at the sea shore for 2 mins, and 0 fish spawned? i'm pretty sure at least two of the sea fish do not need baits. what's going on?

It's better that you stand at a hot spot, look up map for it. Also try and look for disturbance on the water.

Make sure you have a fishing spear equipped and in hand. If you aren't currently wielding the spear, then fish don't spawn. At least that's what I've noticed.

Shore fish can be difficult to spot. Particularly depending on where the sun is or how dark it is. It also seems there are fewer reliable places where they can appear quickly. Luminous dye helps.

Have your spear out or nothing spawns, then just wait until you hear sounds of water splashing and such. That means a fish has spawned.

Hotspots are only required when fishing murkray, norg, cuthol or glappid.

Also, drop chance booster will increase fish spawn.
