Why do Helminth cysts still exist?

It's a stupid feature. Every time I get into a game with an infected player on a new warframe I get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over.

In my opinion Nidus should be like Khora and come auto equipped with the Helminth Charger and remove the cyst altogether. It is one of the worst game features I have ever seen in a game. Everytime a new frame gets released, we are forced to wait the 7 days before we can remove it. It's so stupid!

It just shows that DE doesn't know how to program a game or make smart decisions on new features. People have hated it since it got added, but DE doesn't listen to the players.

The cyst's one current purpose, the Helminth Charger, is tied to a bit of lore that was originally tied specifically to Nidus. There's no more point in making it transmittable from Nidus to other players any more than there would be to make Man in the Wall visits transmittable from Harrow to other players.

except for those for dont have the infested dog anymore, like myself, if i decide to get him again i just have to get a frame which is not cured yet, walk around a relay and wait 7 day, if they remove this, i woudlnt be able to get the dog anymore(unless i buy nidus again i guess?) and it also would mean that people who dont have nidus/dont want to get him cant have the infested dog

Maybe the answer is to make it consensual, so only players who want to will get infected. Perhaps via some specific interaction with Nidus on the emote wheel?

I tend to avoid bringing Nidus to pub missions or relays so he doesn't infect random people.

To be honest, he has a fair point. As much as I hate seeing that pink herpe show up on my warframe, the sooner I get it the better. I've managed to go a day without actually picking up the cyst on a new frame, and it just means I have to wait longer before I never have to worry about it on said frame again. Well'p, If one thing I were told about the Cyst were true, then would make sense to have it as a recurring thing.
I heard once a rumor that if the warframe has the cyst for 30 days, the Warframe would be destroyed for good.

DE is kind of known for their crazy stuff, especially with infestation, so I wouldn't be suprised, but luckily the story is a thing

fun fact: most infested used to be 100% melee attackers, then de gave them peas to fling at you

Kavats feed on the infestation implying that they can't be infected.

My Rhino had the cyst for MONTHS and nothing ever happened to it other than the cyst ruining the frame's front view.
Don't have proof of this claim though
