Bad Region Chat(?)

I hear alot of People talking/advising people to ignore or even turn off the region chat completly, and I start to ask why would you do that? I cant reason why so much people are against the Region Chat and I dont see the sense of disabling it, since I didnt even had any problems by myself

Because it use to be a festerimg cesspool of spam and memes.

Its much much better now but you still dont really get the answers you. Eed from there for the most part. Its quicker to search the wiki.

Also the modderation is now an instant no warning chat ban. So many just dont want to risk it.

Mostly people use Clan chat and then the specific channels like recruitment and trade since those arent allowed in region either.

Absolutely awful moderation. Be it the Kickbot that bans people from all chat channels for 7 days without warning for the unforgiveable sin of saying any of the unknown blacklisted words in any context, or the real moderators who just abuse power and are very clearly unfit to be moderators.

And on top of that, Region Chat has no meaningful purpose anyway.

Disable it, you will not miss anything of value.

Because DE failed to create good moderation system. Just saying "gay" is enough to get you banned, even if it wasn't offensive. Not to mention the fact that some mods easily get away with breaking the rules they are supposed to uphold. As a result, there is little value in region chat. You want to get more information about the game? Use wiki. You want to chat with friends however you like without stupid restictions? Use clan chat or PMs. You want to be a part of community? Go on Reddit.

The people who fear region chat are those that act like cartman from southpark basically. If you enjoy chill nerdy banter with gamers around the world its perfectly fine.

I recieved one breif chat ban and that was for letting myself get drawn into a controversial discussion. Ive since learned to just avoid the drama queens baiting the chatter boxes like myself.

Love to banter in region with all my fellow freaks and geeks from around the wide world.
