Wisp movement animation with melee
I love wisp's custom animations, but in particular her sprint animation is really nice.

But when you switch to a melee weapon she walks, sprints and attacks like every other warframe it kinda makes you not want to use melee with her. Since she doesn't have feet it looks a little strange.

I understand it probably is not possible without changing nearly every melee animation just for her but it would be nice to float and attack with melee weapons.

It would be lovely , yes.But unfortunately it's a bit too much work to bother with for a single animation set.

That's unfortunately not how physics works. Or physical combat.

I wouldn't be too surprised if that may change as Melee 3.0 eventually gets fully implemented. If they want to increase fluidity that would likely mean tying most, if not all, melee animations pretty much exclusively to the upper body, which may allow frames with atypical movement to maintain said movement in melee.

Actually, on that note, which weapons/stances have you tried? (I don't have wisp yet, so I can't test this myself) Some weapons, like nunchucks and rapiers, let you move freely for some/most of the combos, and on most frames it looks like it's the default walk/sprint cycle.

I've swung around my Destreza a bit with Wisp, it forces the default walking/running animations on her while it's actively wielded in any way. I've stopped equipping a melee on her in general because normal anims with Wisp are jarring for me too, which is no big deal since she can't slot Steel Charge without a forma anyway.

God forbid DE put some effort into something. Also lets not forget she doesn't even have animations for ziplines. If they're gonna say they're going to make something, they should at least actually show enough follow through and actually make a complete animation set.

I mean, the actual animation set itself doesn't have unique sprint/running animations on the other frames. Disappointing.

Maybe, JUST maybe, they are waiting for melee 3.0 to give Wisp actual melee animations, it would be a waste of time to make them for the old stances.

I agree, dude. If they're going to charge for a new character and make the decision to have her float around like that, then it wouldn't kill them to put in the extra effort toward her animations. She's is my favorite frame but it is strange to see her running around on her little nubs. I always make sure to switch to one of my guns after I use my melee to counter that ... at least until they add an animation set for melees - if they ever do it at all.
Necro'ing a a few months old post just to rant about some animations, you need to find something more interesting to do.

This is a re-occurring theme in Warframe. DE creates new content but it doesn't follow through with it so we're left with a half-baked goods.

I noticed this about Wisp as soon as I crafted her. Was also disappointed at the blatant lack of Quality Assurance on DE's part.

You're supposed to test new features before they go into production so how tf did they miss that?

Unfortunatley, I don't think they missed it. There are too many things that they 'missed', I think that they don't do anything on purpose. They might think it's actually fine, they might not care that's it's messed... it's hard to tell
