What warframe were you using? There are some warframes who can cheese it rather well and enemies level go up each wave or should. Somebody correct me on this.
When I get on my PC I can give you my current unfinished Rubico build. Wrecks lvl 60+ enemies easily. You'll unfortunately have to sacrifice firerate and clip size because Rubico is a sniper rifle.
I know it's still possible to mod SMGs and such for high level enemies but I haven't fiddled with it much.
Enemy health spikes drastically from level 30 to 40 and up, much more than for example from lvl 20 to 30
Edit: To be clear, the mission was "Outer Terminus" on Pluto, a level 30-40 defense mission. My understanding is that means enemies start at level 30 and increase with waves, going up to level 40 at like wave 20 or so. At wave 5 most of the enemies were still 31-32, except this one Ambulas that was level 48, that's what confused me.
Corrosive damage is good for ferrite armor which is used by mainly grineer and some bosses, barely any corpus unit uses it. Blast damage has -25% towards ferrite armor and a +75% towards machinery and if the wiki is right that armor is used only by 4 units in the game. Rollers, latchers, regulators and eidolon lures
