So, Harpak is A-tier now?
I mean, I had this weapon for ages. Like a suitcase without a handle — hard to carry but feels bad to abandon xD

And now with NW mod it became really viable, even without a riven. This is the build I tested and it melts everything. Like Lvl150 Gunners in the simulacrum — not lightning fast, but it can reasonable kill them, unlike many weapons. And in the hands of Saryn (due to spores) everything just dies. Also great for Harrow's synergie with headshots.

Argon scope can be switched for Hunter's munitions, but overall DPS would be significantly lower (according to calculator). Plus 4 vigilante mods on the sentinel weapon.

So, what do you guys think of revived Harpak? :Grineer:

Personally, I think the Harpak has always been good, I have been using it for years.

It's trash, and having 3 mods for increasing critical chance is obviously a bad idea because you're focusing too much on one multiplier. Vigilante Armaments or Vile Acceleration would increase your DPS more. And if you're not going to use Hunter Munitions corrosive is much better than viral.

Even if that new augment was a flat increase of 300% Harpak would still be alpha-trash

At best, it's bumped up from tier 4 (comfortably handles star chart but cumbersome in sorties) to tier 3 (comfortably handles sorties but cumbersome in long endless missions), and since it demands use of the harpoon, I doubt it. Saryn melts everything anyway, and Harrow makes any gun hit hard anyway; those aren't strengths of the weapon.

Mr fodder at best.

I would say with the new mod it's become actually useable now for higher end content. I wouldn't put it anywhere near the top or even close to it. But, it gets the job done.

dont think so, it just doesnt have raw damage, status or crit at all, its ok for star chart, but wouldnt really stand a chance against lvl 100+ enemies in masses

Harpak is not meta. Try to play with it in Elite Carnage.

Fair point and a lot of Warframe players are like this, but you can't deny that there are some weapons that are legitimate trash. The Seer is my favorite example.

At the end of the day, if you enjoy using the gun, it's worth your time. Most guns in Warframe are still decently usable/above mediocre. If it can kill level 150 heavies, even better. With Exposing Harpoon, Harpak probably breaks out of the mediocre range.

I think he was referencing OP saying that "in the hands of Saryn (due to spores) everything just dies."
Saryn doesn't need a weapon, so saying that Saryn can use it effectively isn't a testament to how good a weapon is or not really. It should be evaluated on its own, not measured against a notoriously strong nukeframe.

This is one of those mods where I think the gimmick hinders the augment from making the weapon truely and absolutely viable, because of how the harpoon interacts with enemies. Much different scenario than that Convectrix mod (good idea, weapon is still bad) or that Vulkar mod (sounds like an absolute upgrade if you're good at headshots)

I guess if you are smart about your harpooning and where you send that initial enemy, it can help the Harpak, but it still relies on that gimmick and you sacrifice a mod slot in the process. IMO the Harpak won't achieve A-Tier with it, but rises from an decent tier to a better tier.

Got a riven when I seen the mod in the lineup. Not really impressed, it can handle level 100 stuff okayish (didn't use abilities or arcanes here), but again, not impressed.

Even with a decent riven for it.
