Is there any efficicient way to farm kavat genetic codes?
I'm sitting doing derelict missions for an hour straight now and all I got was 2 genetic codes. Since the removal of alerts (sometimes there would be 5 genes in an alert) it's hard to farm them without platinum. No kidding, getting octavia was faster than this.
I know about the Simaris thingies to modify scanner. I already have the one that lets me have infinite ones, still lacking the one counting as double scan.

If you do get codes, start the survival and run through it to 5 minutes. You might find some kavats while running it that might be aggro'd on the infesteds so bring a frame that can use a hard CC to hold them in place while you scan them to try to get some more.

Doing it this way means you're guaranteed to get at least the 1 code for your mission and not be just wasting time running through a mission hoping to find them and hoping to scan a code off of them.

I won't get the "One scan with synthesis scanner counts as double" though, and it's not hard to scan them, just farming is sooo slow

Now that's something. Thanks! I'll try survival then

Dunno about Heliocor. But I used Frost, Max range and reasonable duration, minimal Strength. Kavats are fortunatly resistent to cold, so an Avalanche with minimum Str, freezes them without dealing much damage, and there is Power donation now, so you can deal even less damage to them.

I scan the kavats near the beginning of the capture mission on the Derelict.

Sands of Inaros, first half of it has like a million of the things come to attack you, just scan one then kill it.

That's why you hammer. The efficiency of just killing everything far exceeds the occasional double scan.

Already did that quest half a year ago. Didn't notice how bad it is to farm those genetic codes

I ran exterminations and I only found a maximum of 5 kavats.

Derelict Capture is the fastest. Claim the objective, scan, leave.
Exterminates should have more than 5, but it's been awhile for me. Getting an ugly Adarza and not being able to get a nice Kavat was uh... Dissapointing.

Derelict capture. If you got Ivara, its golden. If not, any other invisible will do. If you got neither, have something that can stun or is tanky as hell (like Inaros). Be advised, you wont get genetic codes from dead Kavats.

3day resource booster helps a lot. I did around 3 hours normal play (so i wasnt farming for genetic codes specifically) to have enough for both Khora and the 2 kavats. If you get the hang of it, keep farming for plat, there are peeps who want to buy the imprints (mainly smeeta).

EDIT: If you use Limbo to farm cursed mods from vaults, the genetic codes are bonus. Some nice extra plat.

i think you can re-buy the quest from baro to do it again

i usually just look on the derelict capture while i'm doing vault runs. i'm searching the level anyways and pretty much all the infested go away after a few minutes after capturing the target
