Are machetes good?

I would recommend making a zaw machete because machetes aren't great

As of the last update, the Gazal Machete is pretty good with Condition Overload equiped.
It's not top tier, but it's still effective on up to level 100 Lich missions.
(A Zaw Machete would still probably be better, though)

I'm personally using a Zaw machete with Cyath head. Pretty and strong.

Pick up Cyclone Kraken. It turns machetes from eh to good by itself.

Nah, they turned Sundering Weave around to be an absolutely tremendous stance, especially for zaw machetes. It has an easily accessed slam attack which is great for Exodia Hunt, and the heavy attack can just butcher everything that gets sucked in.

Machetes have always been good. People have overlooked them because they were stuck in the whip/polearm macro play style. I have been a machete user for years. I collected every machete in the game and got rivens for all of them since people treated machete rivens as trash (I got all of them for dirt cheap). With or without a riven, they can slaughter high level enemies with the right build. With the new melee system they are more powerful then they have ever been.

Gazal, Kreska, and Nami Solo also look like good machetes
