How to beat excaliber umbra
Do I have to go off and grind a few human lifetimes to get a better amp? Also this boss is bad game design even if I could hurt him the fight would be boring.

Fights in this game have no flow. If you have to fight something for more than 3 seconds it becomes an awkward dance of throwing yourself around the level peppering them with damage until they go down grinding the game to a halt.

Btw your whole Bloodborne comment doesn't really fit with your whole less than 3 second thing either. Every encounter in every game the Devs did (from Demon's Souls to Bloodborne and beyond) are designed to take more than 3 seconds and be deadly to the player.

Don't want to play the game when you play the game... Choose another game to "play".

I used a tanky frame Rhino and switched with my operator to peek-a-boo excal umbra. I only had the basic amp and was not max level yet I still managed to beat Umbra. I played it safe by using iron armor, going into operator mode to turn invi then take cheap shots against Umbra. It's a tedious process(I died several times) but if you want to steamroll Umbra then get a better amp. Goodluck.

it may be a boring fight but i beat him with the starter amp... so yeah, maybe prepare better for it or spend a few minutes fighting umbra... either way its a doable fight boring or not dont you like a challenge?

I died many many times trying to get dat frame. Not just killed by him, killed by the sentients too.i'm only armed with mote :')
Did just fine without an amp. Took a while but first tryed it.
I just used a mote amp like many people did lol.
i beat it like the second time he knocked me back, its not hard just a matter of keeping up with him since he runs off.
The fight is easy as many people indicated, and at the same time you just experienced that Excal is a great frame like we Endgamers told you all long ago, contrary to the empty critiques of the Metas against Excal. I assume that addressing your seemingly trolling question might end this discussion that goes nowhere.

About the Sentients: Do the quest with the most obvious frame: Excal regular (or prime for those who has it). Excal blind--all 3 versions--stop cold those pesky sentients and leave them ready to die without becoming immune to your attacks (or just not being an issue at all). When blinded, Kill them quick with Exalted Blade (which is the most powerful melee in the game and inherently anti-sentient in all 3 versions). I assume you are too new to have your regular Excal in a position to develop him now that you gonna get Umbra, so do what you can with what you have. The quest isn't grindy or lengthy, but takes time you gonna enjoy one way or another.

About Umbra: you don't have to kill him every time you face him, just need to deplete the shields and get into him (transference). Use all you got with the operator: void more to prevent damage, void dash to escape around and even try to do some damage when dash straight to him, and void blast to try to do some more damage. The amp will be the main weapon, so try to have what you can for amp and arcanes to deplete those shields. When the prompt for use transference appears, try to be in void mode to get in, or he'll keep showing you how awesome is him and his Exalted Blade.

Sorry to say but you gonna have to do so more than once, as the quest is about that: goose chase, until the time comes that it finally becomes yours, and will become your other best friend in the game (Ordis is annoying but is your ONLY BFF before you get Umbra, and uncle Teshin is kinda distant and gives you though love. You know about Hotus by now.)

Hope this helps and GL.
i just go full operator and use kamikaze attack with Mote Amp. shoot, die, revive, repeat. operator is immortal anyway. easy

You can't do that when fighting umbra. Once you die the fight is restarted

JUST USE MANY SPECTER EZ WIN
If you're talking about the fight where you can only use the operator, just start shooting him and don't stop until he drops dead. It doesn't matter if he kills you or not, his health doesn't reset. Everytime he used the sword-into-the-ground ability, I instantly died, but as I said, his health doesn't reset, so just be patient. You'll beat him eventually. It took me about 30-50 respawns.
I did it with the base amp, however i had a good amount of focuspoints at that point, but i never investented any time on tridolons... i made about 10 captures/kills.

I got completely rekt at the beginning but -as always- his entire battle design is rather simple, he constly tried to get into melee range and he has this one move wich always one shotted me but it has a realy long casting time wich makes it realy easy to dodge,

so all in all i just jumped around, kept my distance, and just dealt DMG when ever i saw an opening... took way too long considering how most other fights play out, and yeah i'm glad that this fight didn't involve any unneccesary invulnerability-phases, but still just a stupid beat down.. unless they changed this fight since it was added it should be still rather simple.
I fought him with the Mote amp and nearly no investment on the focus tree (I had, like, Vazarin's increased affinity range and that's about it), and it didn't stand out to me as a particularly difficult fight. Actually, it didn't stand out to me at all.

I was thinking of stuff like remakeing the bosses so that they are more aggressive and fast while getting rid of there invincibility. Something kind of like bloodborne but with the movment of warframe
ask the devs. they surely would remake half of the game just for you because you want to play bloodborne. you know what you should do if you want a game to be something completely different? play something different...like bloodborne maybe? you went from "i cant beat a boss because i suck" to "change the whole game so it fits my expectation"
No when I find strong enemies it dosent feel satisfying to fight them they are just damage sponges with high damage.
