They're robots. 100% artificial constructs controlled by much more reasonable-figured humans who are basically playing the ultimate VR game. So, too thicc? Yeah, the Warframes were designed that way by the Orokin, who were basically supper corrupt right before the collapse.
I wouldn't really say robot is the right word for it, considering robot usually implies some form of automation. Barring Umbra, Warframes haven't been very autonomous save for that one scene in TSD, although some people argue that it was just the operator doing that one.
They're more like puppets. In the words of Hunhow - no self, no sense, no death. Just metal puppets, dangling on Tenno string.
