why nightwave sucks.
it's not so much the idea of it, it's the poorly designed objectives that encourage poor practices.

like when there's an objective to kill a thumper it takes 3x as long to do plains bounties because every mission your team runs off to kill a thumper... or this index one going now where people are just leaving the index so they don't mess up their nightwave objective and screwing over others investments.

if you're going to do this thing at least think about how the goals you set will effect the game...

Index one makes no sense? Most people only ever stay 1 round in it to begin with. Night wave will make it so people actually stay longer

all of your problem could be solved with playing with friends, or not in a random team, or just being prepared to do it alone, most people know that you cant rely on your team to finish a mission

if you play public matches then you gotta deal with the fact that people will do different thing, and will play the gamemode for different reason, bounty is understandable, index is not, since theres really no reason to stay longer than a single round, you get the same amount of credit even after 2 hour into it, because it doesnt scale, and if you can load fast enough you probably only lose about 30 minute each time, and in return you have a much easier time to deal with the enemy

I've played with random ppl & they are working with it.To my surprised,we all achieve the index & eliminate the thumper.

Git gud ... i usually one shot thumpers.... i don't need a "team" to succeed.... don't blame others for your failures... :steamsalty:

It takes at the very least 8 shots to kill a thumper. 4 to break the covers on each leg, and 4 more to break all 4 legs.

Nightwave currently feels like chores than something I want to play. If you gave standing in the usual way while also allowing "Nora Credits" to be passively obtained in missions (2-3 per mission) than it wouldn't be too bad.

I love how people complain about nightwave but it been the best thing ever since taking over alerts I can do them passively and over the week when I'm available and get the things I want and need compare to having to rely on a certain alert popping up at the wrong time....

I still have nightmares having to wake up just to do nitain alerts or orokin reactor/catalyst.

To each their own. I think Nightwave is good but needs some improvements

2-3 per mission is a ♥♥♥♥ ton

Nightwave good for mid-tier casual players but sucks for beginners and veterans. At least they are generous enough to let you complete it with just 60% of total completion.

-plays co-op game

-gets advised to get good and solo it

ya, no, that makes total sense.
Nightwave sucks because it's trying to force people to do content they really dont want to do... that's the bottom line. Why am i forced to kill 150 guys with electric attacks? why do i need to do 50 bullet jumps? why do i need to do 9 of X mission? is zero context to why we are doing these achievement like missions. The old Alert system at least let us pick and choose what we wanted to do and when... nightwave ham fists it down your throat... WANT THE SHINEY DO YA HUH HUH HUH! to bad you need to spend every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day logged in for hours... oh you want that nitain? hope you did your nightwave ! cause if not HAVE FUN GRINDING!

The entire system is bad from the ground up, it's not fun, it's not intuitive... the old alert system sure had problems BUT at least from an immersion standpoint it made sense. We could pick what missions we wanted and the only real issue was they were to random and didnt last long enough... but nightwave as a replacement? while the rewards are always nice you've made the things we use to get with ease a pain in the ass to get now...

i havent really played much since nightwave was added as i always feel its being shoved in my face... and i hate that. Alerts were meant to be a side activity not a focus... and the stories while cool, we never see it ever com to fruition...are no big missions involved with it, it's nice eye candy and that's it.

personally i haaaaaate nightwave with a passion and it single handedly has cut my play time in half.

These are literally optional objectives that can easily be completed through normal play without any real effort. The only real exceptions to this are probably the Index, Eidolons or the Profit Taker, or Orokin vaults.

I'd disagree with the Thumpers however, with a well-upgraded Rubico you can easily plow through its health with little effort.

My general rule of thumb is to avoid doing any of the challenges that require a team to do it efficiently (do it if you want, it's not a requirement tho). You can skip a few of the Elite challenges and still get to rank 30 before the season ends, so it's not a big deal. I don't play everyday either, I did the challenges I wanted on my own time and still maxed this season out.
