imo easy fix would be converting Landslide to critical punch, reducing energy required for his 3-rd ability and making rubble last more than nanosecond. There are 0 risks of making Atlas broken or him breaking the game, people will still level him up and go back to clicking 4 with Saryn.
Pushing his survivability to insane levels would make people use him, he is quite tanky as is, just clunky so he is not worth it.
What I proposed would work in terms of making him at least fun to play, next level would be SOME sort of scaling for Rumblers, like, let them have 3 second invulnerability, convert damage taken into their HP and damage multiplier. Easy lazy solution, change few digits and copy/paste what we got with Harrow's 4 and change value from <critical chance> to <HP> <dmg>. Take 2 hotfixes to balance it out.
There you go, fun Atlas for ya!
I assume that they were caught in the middle of Melee 3.0 and Railjack and someone just went "♥♥♥♥ it" and that's how we got Atlas prime. Not just from development pov, but from resource management pov - no matter how much they buff him he is very unlikely to make any profit so it is better to focus on stuff that has an actual chance to get players in and get money in.
They could have applied what I suggested above in couple of work hours, technology for it is in the game.
So it comes down to them not giving a ♥♥♥♥ at the moment, which is likely justified. No one was hyped for Atlas anyway, we are all sitting waiting for Railjack.
Thought that came to my mind is - DE went balls deep with Chroma Prime and Mesa Prime access' , both have sick op weapons with them that power creep the living ♥♥♥♥ out of the entire game, Rubico, Redeemer, Gram, Akjagara. They knew Wukong and Atlas won't sell for ♥♥♥♥ so they decided to compensate loses on another front. Which goes well with the story of them just being aware that Atlas is not worth the resources.
But that does not go well with why they did not switch Nezha in.
I would be expecting Ivara Prime next unless DE has some special reason to shake up the release date orders yet again
Another thing that would help his kit is making his # 4 golems act more like the celestial twin AI, plus if they could gain damage the more rock armor you put on. Something so that his 4 isn't completely relegated to lower level content. And get rid of the duration timer.
Nezha? Gara? Zephyr? Mesa? Octavia? Ash? Limbo? hard to mention all of them really, really no point with your argument as it is not something realistic that should happen as almost no abilities are immune from nullifiers and building warframe around fighting one enemy is bs, just aim and hit that bubble hat.
It could, but no need, Atlas has enough HP and Armor to survive such loss for a short period of time.
We already agreed that is indeed the fact and was suggested that Nezha was actually ready to be primed while Atlas isn't, that is why theory was discussed as it makes more sense to prime a useful warframe than a dreadful pile of clunky crap.
If we didn't agree Atlas was indeed supposed to be next then no one would mention Nezha possibly REPLACING him was a better idea, but hey, life is hard
Completely missing the point of my suggestion but you do you. Only your suggestions matter anyway right?
At this point Wukong is a better Atlas.
So he is far from first in line that should be taken cared of IF we were to get warframes immune to nullifiers. Rhino loses everything and he cannot survive one shot, Nezha too, Gara, Zephyr, they melt when they enter the bubble but Atlas has time to make proper decision and react as high armor gives him way over 70% damage reduction and if you already have Adaptation on him then it stacks to some insane values.
So that is my point, Atlas sucks, but when it comes down to dealing with nullifiers surprising you and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up your abilities he is in top of the class - he cannot even get knocked down if you stay on ground which is a plus there as you will not be knocked down and forced ot stay vulnerable.
You can try to reason to that, not to me. Why not make Rhino better against nullies then first?
And yes, Nidus keeps his stacks for the most part because it takes quite a bit of time to get all of them.
To cap out rubble it takes 1 or 2 minutes or casual killing, while Nidus can get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by his own team who kill stuff that's neatly packed in his 2 to get stacks.
So we are talking about totally different scales here, it is not about argument being mine, it's about what makes sense and for my side I do not see rubble and stacks being comparable.
Would be cool for sure, and I agree about that. but because of reasons stated above I find it REALLY lacking a real probability of ever being introduced.
Wouldn't hurt the balance even if it gets introduced, just lacks reasoning to get introduced. Maybe cause it's a passive but from balance pov it's nearly irrelevant and it is far from his biggest problem, as stated above, he has very high armor to begin with so he would get more benefit from making him more suitable for building than for that minor thing that never happens if you keep an eye on your surroundings and not do stupid ♥♥♥♥.
We are talking about 1 enemy out of hundreds after all.
Valkyr cries when she gets nullified as she loses HP.
Then I realized they made a pleb toy, teleport while invisible and invulnerable so there are 0 risks of anything, show your self, spam slide attack in panic in circles, click 2 again.
See many people doing this "efficient" thing, do not think it should be possible to do levels like that, no risk and encourage slide macroing. So wish they would follow up on that rework and tune it up a little
But yeah, he is way better.
