Condition Overload. (Is highly recommended if you want more damage going status. )
Relentless Combination is really good if you got a high slash weapon. Since it will guarantee status with every hit once slash get proc on an enemy.
I don't personally use it, but Weeping wound is basically Blood Rush but for status. Try it if you can get one. Since it does help with status chance.
With that I'd say going full critical is your best bet as critical is what adds pure damage while status is better over time.
Combo'd with a Sentinel that is providing the elemental types you're missing, and improving your melee attack speed (to apply more conditions faster) makes the aforementioned "200-400%" damage pale in comparison.
The Cryotra sentinel weapon starts with 35% status, iirc, so hitting 100% (for the other elements, like Gas damage) is relatively easy.
The reason I mention Gas+Blast is that both apply 2 status effects each. Blast applies its own status, as well as the hidden Knockdown status effect. Gas procs apply Toxin damage - so on a weapon with high status, it'll apply both Gas and Toxin effects. The more status effects on a target, the more (exponentially) powerful Condition Overload becomes. :-)
