Is Karyst worth catalyst/forma?
so I crafted the Karyst and it seems to me incredibly effective, but better hear the opinion of veterans if I should invest in it or it is just MR junk

almost every weapon is worth that, mot weps have viable builds and work great with some frames, its your choice tho if you choose to invest in them
honestly IMO there's no bad wepon in warframe, MK-1 wepons being the exception, haveing a good build and/or riven can really turn the weapon around

well I wanted to double-check just in case, as a new player there is an high chance I'll make mistakes so am at least trying to avoid the biggest ones

Reactors don't make weapons stronger, they only double modding space. I didn't think it was that great for a dagger, so if it's doing fine for you as it is, I'd hold onto the reactor for now

No.

None of the Daggers are. The reasons are 2 fold.

Their range is atrocious to almsot be unusable for melee.

And the mod

Covert Lethality. This instant kills everything no other mods needed.

Zaw daggers are the only good daggers, outside of just using Covert Lethality. Save your catalysts for now.

While it's true that you can get most weapons to work in most content, there are definitely good and bad ones. As a new player, he should probably spend his resources on better stuff, unless he really likes that weapon.

Rakta Dark Dagger is better than Karyst, if you can get your hands on it.

thanks for all the informations!

I used Karyst with Inaros as one hit CovLet stabber. I got Sheev now. With CovLet it doesn't matter which Dagger you use. I like the look of it. For non CovLet gameplay a Zaw crit Dagger is the way to go.

I think it looks cool and I got a riven for it so threw a lot at it just for fun.

why everybody is going crazy about crit damage, when clearly condition damage bypasses armor and shields? am I missing something here?

Rakta Dark Dagger with Covert Lethality is all you will ever need.

No need to mess around with Armor and Shields or Crit vs Status if everything dies in 1 hit.

Condition damage is generally the first thing devs make bosses and special event enemies immune to. Crit damage is usually allowed because certain weapons, like Soma, are only viable because they crit. Crit damage is the safer investment to cover all content.

got it, very valid point. Too bad then devs cheat with bosses, but okay it just means having two sets (one against conditions-sensitive mobs, and one for bosses) is the way to go.

Keep in mind, every crit primary is also a condition primary with Hunter Munitions.

good to know, though atm I am focusing on melee weapons because they are generally cheaper to acquire for a new player
