honestly IMO there's no bad wepon in warframe, MK-1 wepons being the exception, haveing a good build and/or riven can really turn the weapon around
None of the Daggers are. The reasons are 2 fold.
Their range is atrocious to almsot be unusable for melee.
And the mod
Covert Lethality. This instant kills everything no other mods needed.
While it's true that you can get most weapons to work in most content, there are definitely good and bad ones. As a new player, he should probably spend his resources on better stuff, unless he really likes that weapon.
No need to mess around with Armor and Shields or Crit vs Status if everything dies in 1 hit.
Condition damage is generally the first thing devs make bosses and special event enemies immune to. Crit damage is usually allowed because certain weapons, like Soma, are only viable because they crit. Crit damage is the safer investment to cover all content.
Keep in mind, every crit primary is also a condition primary with Hunter Munitions.
