whats the best laser weapon ?

today I levelled my mirage and I want to play her like cyclops shooting beams everywhere lol I ve seen some people do that its super cool.

Whats the best laser shooting (beam ?) weapon in the game ? Secondary or primary doesnt matter

Until certain things get sorted out, the group of weapons known as Continuous Weapons (or most Beam/Laser/Held Weapons that aren't automatic rifles) are not that reliable because their Status is messed up and gimped. Its the difference between other weapons being able to proc Status with every shot potentially, while Continuous Weapons are gimped by programming to 1 Status Effect/second. Problem is that the vast majority of Continuous Weapons are Status Based rather than Crit Based, so they get hit hard by this.

Primary: The best "Beam" Weapon for primary weapons is the Opticor since it isn't a continuous weapon, and therefore doesn't have their issues. If you want a Continuous Weapon that is laser-like, you want the Quanta Vandal. There are a few other continuous weapons that are ok for primaries, but they aren't Laser-based persay even if the center beam of weapons like the Ignis (a Flamethrower) or the Amprex (a Lightning Gun) technically works on a similar principle.

Secondary: The Best Secondary beam weapon imo is the Cycron since it has guarenteed Heat procs that semi-solve the Status issue and provide reliable CC. Just mouse over a crowd of enemies and they are automatically lit on fire, and it has punch through, so there's no isue with dealing with crowds. Thus you can technically proc 2 Status effects quite quickly, and it has a reliability that other Continuous Weapons just don't have. The way Ammo works for it is kind of... weird, but if you can get used to that, it works ok.

Damage wise, there are also the Atomos (this is a kind of beam weapon, although a very odd one) and the post-nerf Synoid Gammacor (the Gammacor series are very much beam weapons), although these suffer more from the Status issue, and some ammo issues in the case of the Synoid Gammacor. If Continuous Weapons ever get a Status fix, I would probably give it to the Synoid Gammacor, but as of now, Cycron imo.
