What to do with prime weapons after ranking them to 30?

I just ranked a prime weapon to 30 and don't want to use it anymore. Is there anything else I can do with it besides selling it for credits?

You collect them.

You never sell weapons or Warframes for credits, unless you have a dupelicate.

I keep all my prime weapons/warframes. If I run out of space, I just sell some crap. Getting 12 plat for weapon slots is easy to get.

Swap for the upgrade when there is one. I personally like to keep all non-normal variants for weapons that have primes and wraith/dex/vandal/etc combos. Anything that doesn't have an alternate version I keep until there is a new version.

Any weapons that you absolutely hate I can safely say you should sell as long as you are sure it is not a prerequisite for another weapon.

Some Prime Weapons can be used in the creation of other Primes like the Lex Prime -> AxLex Prime or the Bronco Prime -> AkBronco Prime.

Thats right, I completely forgot because it became a natural thing to me that most weapons could be "ak"-ed

Are you saying you keep non prime frames and weapons when their prime version comes out?

Yes.

Every weapon or frame I have built/aqquired, I still have. With an exception for weapons that are used for components for other weapons (Such as Lex Prime (2x) being used to make AkLex Prime).

A mentality that I got from Dark Souls I think, as some weapons/items can only be gotten once, so to save on trashing something you may need later, you always keep at least one of each item in your inventory.

Keep them because they might get a buff in the future. Take for e.g. sicaris prime. Now it's top tier secondary after relatively recent buff. If you don't keep them, you end up having to refarm or buy again.

Just wanting to make sure, because people do say this enough that I want to know for sure. You are joking right? Or is there a reason for putting forma on something if you'll never use it again?

Selling primes or even regular weps is not really worth it for several reasons:
1, They might be a part of some crafting recipe one day.
2. Primes get vaulted over time and can become hard to re-obtain if you even want to get something back.
3. Although it doesn't happen often DE sometimes buffs and nerfs weapons so something you sold might become a top meta weapon.

As for frames, it's ok to sell frames that have already received prime versions, keeping them is just a waste of space and makes frame selection more awkward.

Well what usually happens is you finish formaing it so you cna fit all your mods you want on it. Then you use it a couple times a new shiny thing comes out so you get that and do the same thing to it and the weapon you jsut finished formaing ends up sitting around colelcting dust. Hundreds of forma on hundreds of weapons and all of the frames forma'd things will end up sitting around not being used for awhile. Until you see it sitting there and remember it was a fun weapon then use it for a few missions or somehting then put it away again.

With the exception of 4 euros way back in the beginning when I didn't know 100% how the game worked, I never buy plat with money. So when I have a Warframe that's lvl 30, I sell it to replace with its Prime equivalent.

As for weapons, if the weapons lack a Prime counterpart, I keep em. If they don't, I sell em.

This way, I save plat for slots which is a very important part of the game since there are SOOOOOO many weapons.
