I think it is plausible that he would help, maybe as a form of redemption
Spoiler alert, we find out that Stalker is the real protaganist and we're all the bad guys. DUN DUN DUUUUN!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is not the void demon. To touch on ballas, they released ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ artwork of Ballas some time ago, and that was him. Further, the voice actor is Ballas. More evidence against him being the void demon is he does not acknowledge the Tenno, which is highly suspect. He uses none of the nicknames or the wording, and his powers are very distincitly not the void. The Void Demon cares about the Tenno. Thats why it follows us. Ballas wanted to go after Lotus.
Thing is, The Lotus can not interact with the Void Demon. She could not before, and Rell's death did not afflict her with carrying the curse. So Why is it Ballas now?
We never did confirm Ballas' ultimate fate. It is easy to say he survived the Orokin's downfall easily, as he likely saw this coming, and his interactions with Lotus shows she knew he survived. Lotus is something many of you are forgetting. her human form is a Memory of Margulis, his Lover. Likely, he may try to perform a continuity ritual on her, and draw Margulis back to life in a sort of psuedo body. Whether Ballas is going to be inherently bad for the Tenno is difficult to know, but judging by his touch on our transference stream, and that of the Queens being like it, our warframes may not even pose a viable threat against Ballas. He wanted Margulis back, not Lotus, and that is way more in line with Ballas then the Void Demon.
The void demon seems to be able to "focus" people, the same thing happened to Rell, the red veil could not see it, we could not see it, nobody could see it, until it chose to be seen
I don't think the concept art is really final on Ballas, even so, I don't see why they don't have the technology to cure Ballas's cataracts. If the demon can take different forms, it would make sense for it to want to be someone close to the tenno leader, and nobody is closer than Ballas
Ballas will probably also be a threat, he was against the Tenno
Finally, the orokin age. that is fact. Without a Yuvan, they wither and die, and 1: Ballas could not get acess to kuva until VERY recently and 2: that body should, either way, be LONG gone
It is simply impossible for it to be Ballas, the body would have withered and rotted by now, and the next suspect would be either a very creative nyx, some very potent space drugs or the demon
edit: Why isn't hunhow dissapointed in margulis/natah for dating a sleezy golden guy?
The concept art, the Voice actor, and so on. You don't really mess with this when interacting with such a hugely important character. It is not impossible Ballas extended his life somehow, maybe even the same way we have via Cryo sleep. Our own tenno should have withered as only warframes existed in Cryo pods, but we survive, so it's far from impossible Ballas survived. The Void Demon has little use for Lotus, who would die in the void. Plus it does not fit it's mojo. Whatever it wants, it's to do with it's pets, the Tenno. I imagine we have way more strings attached then we think in regards to the void demon. Also, again, recognition. The Void Demon ALWAYS calls up "Kiddo". This time he would not have? Why? It is not sensical from a lore standpoint of how they protrayed that character, and with what they are dealing with, this is very important to keep things direct, as Ballas returning is a massive deal. His hand can be seen in every aspect of the lore.
Ballas' body is strange to begin with as well, as if immortalized. He actually looks like what greeks may call Adonis, or perhaps another god. If you remember the Orokin, they appeared this way to their subjects as living Gods, and a executor fits the bill of which orokin undergo those changes, the only others being the seven emperors themselves who lived in Isolation, and may still live alone.
Also narratively, if we consider Ballas' regret for betraying Margulis, it would make a crazy degree of sense for it to be Ballas and Lotus, as Lotus's shape and memories are of Margulis taken from the minds of the Tenno. If we think about the Sacrifice, suddenly we start to get a little more of a idea what is on the way. Many assume the Sacrifice relates to us, but...maybe not. Maybe Ballas will sacrifice Lotus to bring back Margulis.
Ultimately, the point is the Void Demon's fingers are just not on this, and the personality is way out of wack. Ballas pushes you aside, but does not harm you and just ignores you. He is recognized by Lotus who knew he was looking for Margulis. Ballas would not harm us due to Lotus/margulis, but he obviously did not care for us, unlike the Void Demon who is always watching you in your private moments.
but it always comes down to ones own point of view when the question about who is evil and who's good...
I agree. The Ballas we saw was not the Void Demon/Man in the Wall.
Either, it really is Ballas for realsies, and he did take Lotus away from us. Or, this is some sort of trick by Lotus (or some other party) to teach us something.
and my guess is hunhow finaly has come to terms with the fact that his kid is helping the tenno.but gets pissed that she has ran off with ballas and teams up with the tenno to kill ballas
He hates us however, but it isn't unfeasible, just unlikely. Also We know he was a executor, not a Emperor. No one even saw the Emperors. Kinda lonely if you ask me, but oh well. Then again..if Ballas had been hunting them down..
