Why are people suddenly buying the mod Overextended?
75% of the market is trying to buy it and some guy offered 55 platinum even though the average price is 27 platinum. What's going on?

Would it be just as useful with other frames?

Sure, but Overextended is super useful for both Ember and Frost, and since they've been unvaulted people are in a mad rush to use these frames. Could also be people trying to flip their mods too.

I sold a maxed one for 70 platinum last week, dunno why the guy paid me so much. It's only a R5 mod, so it's not like he would owe me a ton for maxing it

How OP is overextended?

Coupled with stretch, it can make ability like Excalibur's Radial Javelin reach from corner to corner in old Draco. The expense of the damage however needs to be maintained by other corruption mod. Abilities that does not rely on strength such as Nyx's Chaos have absolute bonus by using this mod. It also does an opposite effect for Nova's Molecular Prime which if it's used to be slowing down, using Overextended can in change speed up enemies, which is beneficial if one want to finish defense mission as soon as possible, or raking up waves.

I dont like Overextended on neither Frost or Ember since it lowers the strength a lot.

Before it can benefit on Ember you also need to use earthquake mod since you lose your damage so something you need instead, and with Frost a big snow globe aint good vs grineer or corpus since they easy get inside the globe = no snow globe shield protection

against infested i prefer a middle sized globe with chilling globe mod on as well, too big and chilling globe becomes pretty much useless + i dont enjoy a fragile globe ;)

edit: If you use Overextended only for the slowdown effect then Nova prime is much better!
(without overextended)

they always bought this and the other corrupted mods if the price was right - nobody likes doing the damn vault runs much. but yes, the unvaulted frames might have pushed the demand up a notch.

Is it useful even if I'm not planning to get Frost or Ember?

Yes, overextended has many uses and if you opt not to use it on Frost or Ember, other frame can have the benefit from it. Just learn the price first though.

Overextended is good on Frost only against infested and on Ember it's good in only low lvl missions.
Tenzek Dec 7, 2016 @ 9:50pm
It's basically a CC mod. It's great for making huge crowd control area of effect, but it will rob the effect of offensive strength. Stomp from Rhino is a perfect example of this. Since it doesn't scale well anyway, at higher levels people will sacrifice damage for range and use it only as a CC hold.

On ember though, max range is good to deal with low level missions only.
Except that having a massive frost globe is counter productive in most cases. Those corpus bubbles can more easily touch it and enemies can more easily get into it.

Also the Frost bubble will get pretty weak with a maxed Overextended. You're better off just using the normal reach on Frost.

Unless you build specifically for his four. Freeze the gosh darned world. Obviously this comes at the expense of some armour stripping functionality but with the whole map frozen it makes a lot of stuff easy.

Of course this shouldn't be your only build for frost but just an example where it's nice to have a lot of range.

Overextend is good for a Firequake build with Ember were damage isn't the point, it becomes CC and allows finisher damage on the knocked down enemies.
