Best way to farm kavat genetic code?

I did like 5 Extermination and 2 capture missions in the orikin derelect and only got 3 genes any more effective way to do this. (Im using the simaris scanners and scanned at least 2 each capture mission and at least 4 each extermination)

If you didn't do sands of inaros yet, tons of kavats spawn during that. Also, update logs said 10 genetic material should be an alert reward

Do Delerict Survival. Most of the time there's 2x Kavat right before hacking. Scan them and if you don't get DNA, then exit the mission.

Use the shyntesis scanners with the widget wich gives you a 45% chance to scan twice

Tbh, Derelict Exterminate was the best way I found them. I remember getting up to 4-6 genetic codes and sometimes more per mission (sometimes less too if I was unlucky). Its a very slow process so good luck and god speed. xD

Found many in the last vault runs I did. A way to stay sane while looking for those, kill two birds with one stone. Bring a frame that can immobilise the kavats to make scanning easier (Trinity, Equinox..).

Well I did it the hard way by actually going to Derelicts and scanning Kavats ...... which takes FOREVER plus a day. Tho it is still probably the fastest way to get them.

Alternatively you could wait for alerts tho they only briefly brought the DNA drops from Alerts to a 1 Kavat worth of DNA per alert and then it went right back to .5 Kavats worth of DNA per alert. Also Alerts are not really very common. So they aren't very reliable unless you are willing to wait a long time.

The last way is to buy them for Plat from the market.... which is probably the fastest way if you just want a Kavat now.

extrminates with volt moded for speed and heliocor clearing thru was fast but still got 1 code every 2 missions mor or less.. survival going in lookin and aborting took awhile since they only show up every 5-10 missions, sometimes 2 in a row and i coud get 2 codes from scanning with simaris scanner so that seems a bit more sure, altho you can get lucky in exterminates but have to spend more keys.

I was able to scan 10 genetic codes in just a few min. I know, sounds crazy but this is what you do.

If you have yet to do the Inaros quest you are in luck. Make sure you have Limbo. After you do the first part, fill your very first vessel and are told by Boro to go back to the tomb, take Limbo.

After the narrative is finished you will be attacked by a lot of kavats. Cast your bubble then freeze everything and scan to your hearts content. In just a few minutes, I was able to scan 10 genetic codes. The number you actually are able to get might be slightly different for you, but I was able to get 10 exactly.

Make sure you don't bring a pet, or if you bring a sentinel make sure it doesn't have a weapon. You don't want to kill them before you scan them. I didn't bring anything, as it's really super easy to rift all the way to the tomb, so there is really no need. What I did was bring along a melee weapon with no range, so after I scanned each Kavat, I quickly killed them with my melee weapon. You want to do this because there are so many Kavats that it will make it difficult to scan them as they tend to stack up in one place.
