As for the question: you answered it yourself. Fun is subjective.
Example: Why does it exist?
As for your second point, fun is subjective. Yes. But whether it's fun or not isn't the topic at hand. I asked why it exists, and followed up with my opinion that it seems hastely put together and unfinished. It's just so ambiguous, like:
How does the point system work? Is it PvP or PvE? What are the rules? Who's the random cephalon announcer we haven't heard of before? How does this "sports arena fun time" place fit into lore at all? Why would our Tenno stop to play games between stealing intel and fending off an out-of-control interplanetary infestation?
Nothing is explained or even hinted at. It's just thrown in there haphazardly, and that's my issue with it. Why?
As for the questions, you can look all of them up easily at http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/The_Index.
Someone else can answer you lore questions, maybe. I'm tired.
It was created as an alternative way of earning credits, that was the main reason in the first place. Moreover they crossed it over with Glast Gambit quest, linking Index with the lore of the game.
It is indeed interesting after some math homework is done.
its there to farm credits and to get some exclusive mods.
and imo, its great fun, wish there was more like it out there.
Oh, wait. No. You can't.
That's what you get from the Index.
