should i change to only equipping one protection mod?
so im MR10 right now and with all my previous warframes i used both redirection and vitality but i just made mesa and i kinda need the extra mod slot so im considering dropping vitality. im not sure if i die a lot and im bad or im just clumsy and i stand in the same spot all the time. sortie mission enemies kill me all the time so idk how im gonna handle having just one mod or how other ppl handle sortie missions with only 1 protection mod. is this a big deal and also which one should i use redirection or vitality

Just a Max Vitality is all you will need on 90% of frames. Shields are worthless.

Unless the Survivability mods synergize with a frames playstyle or abilities, I dont use them, havent for over 3 years now.
Inaros, (Vitality + Steel Fiber)
Frost, (Steel Fiber buffs globe)
Nidus, (Vitality +Steel Fiber)
Mag, (Redirection buffs polorize)
Chroma,(Vitality+Steel Fiber)
Harrow (Redirection buffs penance)

are the top ones that come to mind.

Mesa only needs health. Look at your frames' base stats and play to whatever is higher. Health is usually better overall. When you play Mesa, keep her shatter shield up and you won't die. EZ

Mesa also has Shatter Shield, so you should be fine.

It depends ot eh frame many I dont use any health armor or shield mods because they ill actualyl harma decent build. Mesa I run a maxed vitality that is it shatter shields makes her a bullet sponge.

shield mods are not worth it at all, enemies can proc slash or viral and completely ignore your shields and dmg your health , so you should use vitality if you want more survivability

Certain frames like harrow and mag benefit from shield mods. So yea.

you're right, but i still don't use redirection on them because i feel they have enough shields already (not talking about base shields obviously)

It's not about that, for harrow the more shields you have the better your penance buffs are. The more shields you have to replenish, the stronger mags polorize is.

Not quite true, since healing is rather lacking in this game, while shields come back quickly. Of course, that lack of healing is also why you want a nice health pool, for those damage sources that bypass shields.

mediray, arcane grace, rejuvinate, equilibrium, syndicate procs, healing return, life strike

thats not even counting warframe abilities. IF youre having trouble healing, thats not your only problem.

Dont forget the hunter mod for your pet. It does very decent amounts of healing.

The only reason you need vitality is Sapping Ospreys.

Level 80 Sapping Osprey can 1 shot 500 hp units no matter how much shields you have.

Shields do not have any form of damage reduction.
Shields can be reduced heavily by Mag procs.
Slash and Toxic procs bypass Shields completely.

Shields are very fragile and to use only a Redirection is a poor idea. Going for a Health mod instead (Vitality) is better. Even a fragile frame like Banshee will survive longer with only a Vitality rather than only a Redirection.

Life Strike is what I use to keep health topped up. Even an Unranked Life Strike is enough.
