Plains of Eidolon is a buggy mess
Alright. So.

So far playing PoE has been a real pain in the butt. I've been playing the new bounties for around 2-3 hours now and have been able to complete only the first one. Not because of the crazy level/stat scaling of the enemies, which other people have also pointed out, but because of the many objective bugs that infest this patch. Even the first one took multiple tries because of the objectives failed to complete or the new objective failed to start (the objectives have three parts, at least the ones I've been able to try so far).

I'll just list some things:

1. Starting a bounty with a buddy from Cetus is too hard and time consuming. It looks like you have to wait for all of you to see each other at the mission start door before the mission starts loading, and this can take soooo long. Luckily you can circumvent this by going to a mission solo and inviting everyone once you're out on the plains, but...

2. You can't always invite your friends from the plains. Multiple times I got an error stating I was playing the mission "offline", so inviting others was impossible. And no, I wasn't offline.

3. Bounty objectives seem to be really bugged if playing in a team. You finish one part of a bounty and the second part just doesn't start, making finishing the bounty impossible. They work a bit better in solo, but even then there seems to be a chance of either the next objective not activating at all or the current objective being unable to be completed. I've played a bounty solo now 5 times in a row and every time the last objective (an armored vault) fails to open, making finishing it impossible. And of course, after you leave the objective area, Lotus comes mocking and tells you how she has to now tell the bounty dude "we've failed him". Screw you, Lotus.

4. Enemy scaling is off the charts. The first bounty is from levels 5-15, and the second jumps to 10-30, and then they hop up 20 levels each. It's not that bad, but oh man do missions get hard so fast. Combined with being unable to play with friends like 50% of the time it gets really hard out there.

5. No public matchmaking for bounties?

6. It feels like the Grineer soldiers are too accurate, especially when you have to escort people during bounties. We had grineer footsoldiers snipe the escort dude from I guess a nearby mountain, because we couldn't see anyone nearby.

7. I've yet to unlock the Archwing on the plains because of having a really hard time farming for the stuff with all the bugs, so I don't know if this becomes a moot point when I get it, but damn is it annoying having to run back to the door every time you complete a bounty or just go freeroam and farm for stuff. Two times we got stuck inside the "airlock" between Cetus and the plains forcing us to abandon the mission (once in freeroam), losing all the stuff we gathered along the way.


In short, I guess don't play with your friends until some of these bugs have been hotfixed.
Sure, it's launch day, so everything might not work as expected, but oh man has this been an awful experience so far.

EDIT: I want to add I like the idea of PoE a lot and other than the bad first experience I'm still going to keep enjoying my time with the game. I'm not attacking the game or the devs here, just trying to bring forth that there are some problematic issues with the new patch.

Yeah this update has some problems, operator hair is visible through everything, Gara's 4 can be made permanent if the expansion is interrupted by a nullfield, nullfields dont seem to actually spawn in the void anymore (30 mins survival spawned everything but not a single nullfield, although i might have killed them around the corners of my camp spot)

You can add to the bug list sometimes the hud just disappears, and many (if not all) old quests that worked until now are unfinishable god knows why.

Also, not a bug but a very inconvienent fact is that every weapon/power range did not change (or now is even worst with the new 300m+ falloff) when enemies now can see/target/hit from distances 100m+.
As you said before they are way more accurate than they should, even in low levels.
That makes many weapons now just useless (just as useless as snipers were before) and makes quite hard to compensate with the old stuff we got.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees no public matchmaking for bounties as an issue, because I really hate solo escorting the drone when my buddy fails to enter the plains with me for whatever reason.

I´m not sure whether I´m just dumb or don´t know how to get them spawning, but the "2nd tier" fish aren´t spawning and the baits seem to be doing ♥♥♥♥.

Can anyone name a major update in warframe that wasnt released a buggy mess? For a week or two, until it was fixed.

Do people really find the enemy Scaling on Bounties to be super hard? Thats kind of funny, I thought they were fairly easy.

I haven't played Warframe in months and was waiting for this update but I've never been super Hardcore with it. I decided to Yolo it and I went for the highest level bounty right out the gate, and I soloed it without any trouble really, did it as Trinity Prime with Paris Prime/Lex Prime+ Carrier Prime. Hardest part of the whole bounty was protecting a machine for a few minutes as Trinity with no defensive skills.

Aside from that I didn't encounter any bugs but I guess I'm lucky.

Couldn't even complete the 1st bounty after few tries because the objective kept bugging out, so I gave up.
As a new solo player (started playing a week ago), I'd rather focus my time on farming more warframes and increasing my master ranks, than spend time on that buggy mess. =/
(besdies, I was just getting used to the game when the update came and now I'm even more confused of what to do. The game doesn't do well on explaining stuff for the new players and there's just too much stuff you need to know.)

They explained why they did the 300m fall-off. Do you really think that being able to shoot unhindered at beyond 300m is alright? It's mostly just so you don't sit back witha Soma and kill everything from 1k out. 300m is actually still really far away and I'd be impressed if this actually mattered to anybody. They also said that it essentially doesn't impact the base game because they tried to find a place that was longer than 300m and they couldn't. Only thing it messes with is POE and it's a reasonable thing to prevent you from using all your weapons to snipe instead of a sniper.

Bugs were to be expected, but not of this caliber. Pretty much all bugs i found were game breaking. Bounties failing, people not being able to leave plains if someone is dead forcing him to abort and losing everything, not being able to go outside with your teamates. Crashes while opening caches, Quill points not being to be raised and making it impossible to advance. Just to name a few.

Could just be me, but it takes a long time to load in and out of the plains...literally the only thing discouraging me from wanting to do more bounties or do anything really.

I can also now add that the mining tool sometimes completely bugs out. You can tell it's broken when the tool's UI stays on the screen after zooming in and out with the tool. This causes you being unable to mine any more ores and sometimes it even blocks using warframe skills.

I saw them rolling out at least one hotfix yesterday, so staying hopeful this patch gets to a playable state soon-ish. :)

Oh right and also I want to add that if you have a public game and you join the plains to farm for stuff, you can't leave the plains and bank all the stuff you have collected UNLESS EVERYONE ON THE PLAINS LEAVES WITH YOU.

This is a HUGE problem if you forget to put your game to solo/friends/invite only, go farming and someone random joins in halfway through. The only way to leave if everyone doesn't join you in the Cetus airlock is to abandon AND LOSE ALL YOUR COLLECTED STUFF.

Please let us leave without everyone joining. This is making public freeroam matchmaking a nightmare.
