alright alright, i'm very surprised that any devs still come to theses forums, where verbal abuse is common. So let's see if you really want to hear our thoughts.

first of all there are some posts related to this.

ok well i think it's enough, if you want more type anything like "warframe fov, camera distance, distance view", i swear you got plenty unanswered suggestions to make the game better.

so let's keep this respectful, and let's see if the devs are ready to talk about this. Since they came to lock the thread, they should came to explain what is happening with this.

As i posted my last angry post, I noticed something.
Some people, which certainly loves the game, will defend it WHATEVER you dare say against their beloved baby.
Here we talk about the fov or camera distance, not about my knowledge, or how the game is perfect in it state, i'd like to see what people really think about this forced "close view" of your frame.

i want to point out that giving us more options for this Fov, or camera distance, or whatever horizontal or vertical distance, could not have negative effects on anyone liking the actual state of the games.

what is the problem?
The frame is taking too much space in the screen. we want an option to zoom out the camera.

In the ship, i think it takes like 40-50% of the screen?

in eidolons plains, i'ts awful. your frame is too large, the camera is too close for an open world. it's a pain to locate npc opponents, well for the flying opponents you should ve see me yesterday strugglin and dying from opponents i couldn't even see.

and for god sake's why can't i have a look of my entire frame while playing?

and why am i posting for this? I red something on reddit that triggered me, look at first comment.

FOV has always been bad, as has been the camera distance. This game suffers the same problem as the Arkham games with the 'Batman Zone' issue. Too much screen space is taken up by the warframe. We should be able to scroll the camera in and out. The FoV should scale much higher.

To me the camera distance is a bigger issue than the FoV. But both could use adjusting.

I support this! why is this forced? We are pc gamers, keep your console options for your console gamers and give us the options every game have.

I personally have no problems with the FoV...but I also play on a 55" TV and have learned to keep my head on a swivel while I play so as to be aware of where the enemies are.
I am all for more options to accommodate players that can't play with the current FoV but I see no reason to have to see my whole frame at all times.
@the OP props on a much more concise, mature and informative post.
BTW not everyone here is a fanboy that will rip into you for having ideas, its just nice when we don't have to read a wall of angry text full of hearts.

Low FoV is a legit problem for some people who can suffer motion sickness.
It will cause headaches, literal sickness, eye strain and is ultimately very bad for your health.
I get it myself but playing on a large screen (32inch) seems to keep it at bay for most games.
Unfortunately not everybody has the money or means to purchase big screens so really it should be increased to at least 110 maximum FoV, for the players sake.
90 is a good FoV and will not induce it in most cases.

Just to add, after playing for about 30 hours now I am noticing a pattern of mild headaches after playing the game so I guess its still too low for me and I will have to stop playing it for my own health.

Its a shame, no matter how much I like the game or want to play I just cant.

up for better visibility. I'm still curious if the devs will come in this respectful thread.

do not hesitate to give your opinion. Positive or negative about the carema distance and fov.

I have no clue what is the problem over there. My FOV is only at 60, tbh I'd bring it a bit closer.

I've never had the slightest problem with the game's current FoV, but sure, I'm all for some extra wiggle room on the sliders for those who apparently need it.

By the way, that dev you're talking about is the only one who comes to the Steam forums on a remotely regular basis. If you want DE to pay more attention, I'd highly recommend posting this on the official Warframe forums around here: https://forums.warframe.com/forum/193-feedback-categories/

this isn't only the FOV that is the "problem" (at least for some people), it's the distance one is looking at ones frame from. the "problem" could easily be solved if DE would just add an option for the viewed-from-distance, no technical problem since there is a parameter for the players camera in every 3rd person game i ever played (it's there for 1st person games too, btw). it also does not break the game in anyway or will hinder the performance of the player who will look a few meters farer away at his/her frame very much.
this goes pretty much in the same way as for those player who would like to play in 1st. perspective (which i find useless in a game like warframe, but if people want it, why not?), and is only a minimal change (though in case of 1st. person perspective, the work is a bit more complicated, else you would see parts of the frames head. the aiming mechanic though should not be a problem since (and i'm pretty sure it is) it's vector calculated from the weapon to the target (and therefore, the crosshair can stay like it was).

I would definitely support a wider range on the FoV slider, but I think the main issue is actually the camera position. Most of the times I don't really have an issue with it, except when I do.
What would be really nice: a way to fine-tune the camera position in addition to more FoV options. If people could get "confused" by them (if that's the reason why it's not implemented, I can actually understand), just add a reset button as well and it should be fine, I think.

Now excuse for this not being a thing since PoE.

I definitely think camera positioning / distance and FoV changes would be good. recently I've noticed with my rhino prime when i have the prisma naberus on it, they can block my reticle until i use iron skin, which for some reason causes them to fold back to wrap around the shoulders

personaly, that's why i dont play warframe, i just cant stand the camera that close to the character.

They would provide option to set the camera further away ( like most tps ), honestly i would give a try.

I've never had an issue with it. Makes it harder to lose yourself in chaos and gives better positioning awareness for parkour and such. A zoomed out camera could also make aiming/shooting weird, depending on how that is programmed in this game which I am not confident on. I think it shoots from the camera, so having a slider could mess with gun stuff.

Camera distance is a much-needed, customizable option the players need.
Too see a great game come so far, and do so well, but still lack (I gotta say) one of the most basic options all pc-gamers have come to know at this point in time; it's just plain sad!
Problematic for pvp? Then make a cap of 78 or 80 or 90. Whatever works.

It can only improve the game. Its a quality-of-life thing that people need in a grindy game.
