Is there a way to unbind my Steam account from my Warframe account?

Simply put, I'm not happy with my Alias and I'd just rather create a new Warframe account.

However my current WF account is bound to my Steam account.

I did some googling, but the results I got were from 2015ish and I was wondering if they have updated the system since?

Will reinstalling the game work? I have fast internet and I don't mind reinstalling it (will take about 15 mins).

No way that I know of.

Just change your alias in game if you don't like it. Log in to the warframe website and change it there.

Eta it does cost platinum, but opening relics and trading the prime parts to players is an easy way to obtain plat.

I'd really like to keep this account, it's about 4 years old now but I'm not sure I'm really willing to spend 10 dollars to buy enough plats for a game that I'm only really going to give a second try after so many years.

Is there a way to earn Plats in-game?

I'm ok grinding for it. At least in the process of grinding I would actually be playing the game so that would be fine.

You can obtain plat for free by doing void relics and trading the prime parts to other players.

I don't play Warframe through Stream. The game can be installed and played through warframe.com. It will then run independant of Steam. Creating a new account this way will allow you to register a different user name but you'll be starting over from scratch.

If you do this I recommend you delete your Steam installment. I've heard that multiple accounts is against TOS, if so it can get you banned.

Multiple accounts are completely fine as long as they don't interact with each other (i.e. trading items between your accounts).

Quite true. I have multiple accounts and have no issues since they don't interact.
But I'd suggest just earning some plat through trades to change your name so you don't have to start all over and lose anything.

You can use either trade chat or warframe.market for trading items.

Recommended to use: https://warframe.market/ for trading (it also helps that you have joined a clan with a trading post and you can also use /w ignhere to whisper a person if need be)
