How the ♥♥♥♥ can I see my combo multiplier?

There is a rifle riven mod that I need to reveal but its impossible to complete because I need to get a 3x combo multiplier for 30 seconds.

I actually managed to do this once without any combo duration mods but it didn't count so I assumed I needed to hold the weapon which the riven was placed on. But I can't complete it if I have no idea how much combo multipliers I have hit.

Is it possible to see the combo multiplier without wielding the weapon only? Or should I try to go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ farm Drifting Contact and just start killing everything randomly, assuming that I will ever be able to hit 3x for 30 seconds...

1. Use a mod that increases Combo Duration (Body Count, Drifting Contact, etc)
2. Switch to you Melee weapon, rack up enough hits to get the 3x multiplier
3. Once you reach the 3x multiplier switch to the weapon the Riven is on and keep meleeing by using Quick melee, wait 30-ish seconds, and Boom, done.

You have to draw your melee weapon to see the combo multiplier.
Drifting contact , body count and wukong helps with this challenge.

You only see it when you have your melee weapon our. It's bottom right just above your abilities.

i'm afraid that there's no such possibilty, but you can try to do this challenge with trinity (through the frist skill)

Hold F so you equip only your melee weapon.

I would say drifting contact is good to get generally, though for that challenge just go solo on a very low level capture mission and once the target is down on the ground wail on them with your melee, until it says it's complete

Another way to do this Riven is to get a Nidus (You, or someone else), get them to cast 3 on a enemy, mash E on that enemy untill you complete the Riven.

Not required, as you only need to have the riven on a weapon in your load out. You don't need to use that weapon at all during the mission to unlock it.

Hold F to swap to melee only
Start hitting
Look at the bottom right corner of your screen.

To do the challenge easily go at a boss with invulnerability phases and spam E

You don't need it for this challenge really. Just solo a low level capture missions and knock the target down for capture and then just smack them around until you've unlocked your riven. I'd suggest a very quick melee weapon to get the counter up faster. Then capture them and see what you got.

I would definitely recommend getting drifting contact eventually though.

Lech krill is a good place to do this challenge as well. It still counts the hits on him whilst he's invulnerable. so you can just go at him, unlock the riven then swap back to kill him normally.

Still trouble getting it unlocked?

Take a tanky frame with a low dmg but fast hitting melee weapon to lech kril and spam the melee button

As said, go to hold your melee weapon. There are two ways to do this:
1) go into survival with some combo counter increase mods like body count or drifting contact
2) go to kuva fortress, hit an inactive turret until you reach x3.0
bonus for faster combo with wukong and relentless assault mod on melee
