but we must remember weapon prime isnt the same like normal weapon for example braaton and braton prime that 2 diffrent weapon

yeah also mk 1 weapens/wraith/vandel and so on are their own weapens

you only gain mastery for NEW weapons you level up, ONLY new weapons the best way to gain MR is just to keep 1 slot open to constantly level up new weapons passively or have 3 slots and buil 3 weapons every day and jump into akkad level and trash them i did that on PS4 and hit MR 10 within a week easy.

if you got 2 empty slots all the xp goes to the weapon you've equipped

Codex keeps tabs on all of that, you can view which weapons you have/haven't leveled up there.
