And how do you find those void fissure missions? They are alert only? Check the alerts? I see none now.

Yes. It gives you the biggest chance of getting rarer items
Honestly I don't recommend aiming for a specific thing, (unless you NEED it), just get a bit of everything here and there, and before you know it, you already have enough to craft your item
If you have 4 people with Radient (maxed) relics then the odds that one of the drops from a single fissure mission will include a rare are roughly 35%. (math is annoying but useful) Since everyone who brought a relic can pick any of the relic's drop as a reward and as many people as wish to can pick the same reward, that means a Radshare has about a 35% chance of getting you the exact rare drop you wanted. (Radshare=everyone brings a radient of the same relic)
you get traces from opening relics (or doing the mission without one if your relic poor or crazy) meaning you can crack a ton of lith relics and use the results as dukat/trade fodder before going into a Radshare for something rare and specific with that roughly 1/3 shot at getting it.
This is opposed to the old void key system (that I wish they'd make avalible again simply for verity's sake) where you could do a hard mission and get a garbage drop while everyone else who worked equally (or even less) hard as you gets something useful.
