New player - Volt. Which mods should I take to my weapons and warframe?
As I ask in my title - Which mods should I take to my items and warframe?
Many people told me that I took wrong mods to my default bow and default pistol + skana.
Also they told me that I have probably wrong mods upgraded in my warframe.
Can someone help me with this and tell me which mods are the best to every of these weapons and to my warframe?
I'll be glad.

Start with +damage equipment. This means serration for primary and pressure point for melee weapons.
Also dont put +firerate on bows that are already charging very quickly such as the mk1 paris.
The potential of a weapon depends on its crit or status chance. At 15% it starts being a good idea to put mods on that will increase these stats. Most low mr stuff is trash in that regard tho.
For volt only slot redirection since he has high shields by default and low hp.
The effects of the elemental damage types are listed on the wiki.

Also dont upgrade mods that show as broken in the description, they are awarded for the starting quest and very weak compared to their easily aquired normal version.

There exist mods that increase your ability potentials by 30%, Intensify for STR. Continuity for DUR, Streamline for EFF, and Stretch for range, but that one does 45%. Focus on getting those, but don't grind specifically for them. I got Primed Continuity before I got the regular version, for reference. Play the missions and clear the star chart as much as possible and you will get most of what you need. Trying to grind specific enemies sucks. At some point, you should Reactor your Volt to double it's mod capacity, since maxing out mods takes up more space. Reactor BP drops are rare though, so it may be best to trade stuff for platinum just to buy one. Also, if you like a weapon, look it up on the wiki and check it out there before you put a Catalyst on it, since there may be a better version, like a Prime.

Ability modding comes later. In the beginning he should focus on getting the must have mods maxed before making an ability focused build.
On a sidenote, ability focused builds (especially volts) rely on the user being able to supply himself with enough energy to keep it running. The most common method for that is zenurik , something he wont have access to for most of the star chart.
