Is Glaive Prime worth buying?
I don't have enough relics for it but I'd love to have it, but it's super expensive right now, Glaive Prime set is around 300 plat...

If you like glaives? Go for it if you dont like the others.
Just as melee weapon? Far better stuff out there.

No! Certainly not for 300, even soma prime isn't selling for that and that's the most popular vaulted weapon.

Check https://warframe.market/ for a good guide to trade chat prices. Note people are going to charge a lot for vaulted items, but unless they're amazing like loki prime, nova prime or soma prime then you might as well wait until they're unvaulted as otherwise they are massive rip-offs.

Yeah, it's not a very strong weapon. If you want a cool glaive go for Cerata. Orvius is also pretty decent.

It's the best Glaive in the game.
Heck, all the other ones are named after it; of course it's worth 300p.

If you're going to use a boomerang weapon, that's the one.

It has been buffed recently and it seems to have pretty similar (maybe better) stats than Cerata.
Thanks! I guess I'll try Cerata first and see how end game I can make it.

Wasn't Glaive Prime unvaulted once already? What are the chances it would get unvaulted any time soon :P? Yes, I look up my prices at warframe.market, but parts are expensive regardless of if alone or in a set.

It's a great weapon, but not a must have. There are viable alternative thrown weapons that won't break your bank.

...such as?

Assuming that you're using it for the throws with an invisible frame, Cerata or Orvius are pretty good. Cerata has higher status chance, but Orvius has higher base damage. Orvius also has the benefit of being mainly slash base, meaning bleed procs.

Honestly, at this point after all the buffs pretty much all the glaives are highly viable, especially considering ability to dual-wield them with pistols. I would highly recommend Orvius (it's insane if you time it's charge properly) and Halikar (due to it's staggers, heavily explosions and disarms). Glaive Prime is excellent and with correct build it can do 60+k crits on timed charges, but it's not the "be all and end all" glaive.

yeah well... if you want to try getting it for those mostly bogus-offer of 100p or less, be my guest - might be someone is stupid enough to sell a vaulted item for peanuts. but the price off 300p is actually the norm in the market right now.
as for if the OPshould buy it... well, thats to everyone own liking. i rarely use thrown melee these days anymore (even with the new change to them), but i liked them a lot way back.

Thank you for your recommendations! I'll look into that.
