What non-prime/non-syndicate weapons are Potato Worthy?
Entering into late-game soonish and noticing that for the more part, weapons which are not catalyzed seem to be lacking in terms of damage. Also realizing that a supply of catalysts is fairly hard to obtain. So trying to get a decent idea of what weapons remain viable once dealing with enemies above level 50 without needing riven or harder to obtain mods. You know, the sort of weapons that someone would get a good amount of life from and allow them to do some of the endgame content and be able to use when obtaining and popping open Axi relics.

Also looking for a fairly broad list of weapon types since there are some which are better for singular targets but fail when it comes to large groupings.

I might have lower hrs than you (110),But the Tigris one shots everything in t4 Void in close range, look into it

Then the Ogris is very viable
Hirudo. Fast, heal on crits and deals decent damage, I reccomend it to anyone who likes melee simply because its strong on frames like valkyr as it makes it a little smoother of a transition between hysteria and normal melee combat.
I potato everything

Please note this is not a complete list of viable weapons. Login and Dex weapons already come with catylsits installed, so i left those out. Many Prime weapons have normal varients that ARE viable, like Scindo and Nikana, but if you intend to get the prime versions then potatoing thier normal varients is wastefull. Additionally, some weapons that are actually viable just dont suit my playstyle/ I dont personally like them, so i left them out (like Kesheg)

Bottom line, 99 percent of ingame weaponry is viable if you are willing to invest in it with potatoes and forma, and have the mods to back it up. It all comes down to 1) how much you like the weapon 2)How much you are willing to invest/how much you want it to perform. Diaku is still a great hard hitting bow, unfortunetly Lenz is now the heaviest hitting bow out there and people that arent die hard fans are ditching it and calling it "crap". Additionally, if you like a weapon but it underperforms, there is the possibility of gettign a riven for it that boosts it to tier combat. I LOVE machetes, especially Gazal, unfortuenatly it has just about the lowest damage of any melee. I earned a riven for it and now it performs on par to take it into sorties and do well.
I'll give it a try. So to be quite clear, this is about weapons that aren't syndicate/prime versions, but which keep up in endgame. I'm going to exclude weapons that have a clear prime or syndicate upgrade. Thus, while something like the Tigris is quite capable by itself, there is an obviously better weapon in the Sancti or Prime Tigris. There's an exception to this rule for the Hek shotgun for reasons. If I miss anything on this list, let me know. I might just not have enough experience to recomend it for sortie level enemies.

(snip)
Torid is a luancher, and is very viable, especialyl when comboed with Mags Magentize field.

Zakati is a launcher sidearm, like Angstrum and Kulstar, which u left out. All are pretty viable, Zakati is more status while Kulstar is more crit.

Orvious is a glaive, and its main power is in its charged throw comboed with stealth kill finishers. It will shatter just about any enemy with the right elemental combos.

You left out Gaundano, which has the highest range of all polearms and is high crit.

Theres some other weapons that didnt make your list that I posted above that are interesting that you might want to take a look at, they arent the top of thier class but are still pretty fun and powerfull to use.
I can instakill s'hit on the level 80-100 sorties with Paris Prime (extremely easy to get). Ack & Brunt also carves right through ♥♥♥♥ at that level as well.

Destreza. Twin Grakatas. Amprex. Dread. Lenz. Hek (Non-Vaykor, due to the mod). War. Opticor. Lesion. Jat Kittag (Arguably better at level 200 than level 100).

All of the above weapons are considered either top of their field or best in class at something.
Okay, if 99% are viable... Then what is the reason why some weapons that seem decent are not mentioned as being such. For example, the Dera Vandal and Stradavar do similar damage and crit rate to the Tenora, but both are Strong disposition (rarely used) verses the Neutral dispositon of Tenora. Or people say to go with a Karak Wrath when it still has fairly low damage and crit rate. Meanwhile many people run around with a Soma Prime (presuming crit focused) when it feels like you need to use several mods to get crit rate and crit damage up to have the same DPS as other guns.

Trying to figure out that the rule of thumb here is since it feels like you only get a catalyst alert once in a blue moon, and have to be lucky enough to be online for it.

The meta dictates what gets commonly discussed. Like I mentioned, if I left out a weapon,it doesn't mean it's not viable, it's just not my favorite. There's just too many weapons to really use them all. As far as why weapons with similar stats beat out other weapons, stats aren't the only factor. Recoil, mag size and ammo pool also dictate dps/performance/preference. Tenora has a much larger clip/ammo pool, gains accuracy with increased spool, and has a sniper alt fire. This is a direct advantage over karak, stradavar and Gorgon series (all similar weapons)
