[Solved]Synthesis scanner not working
I tried to do the "practice" mission to pratice synthesis scanning and I trapped the synthesis target and tried holding down left and right on one of the points but nothing happend. Am I supposed to press something else besides left and right clik and hold?

Nothing else, but last hot fix has broken it for synthesis targets. Everything else is able to be scanned, just not targets.

I am having the exact same problem. So does that mean we'll just have to wait for them to fix it before we can complete the new strange quest?

Okay so just wanted to give a little update: Last night I was able to get this to work. I was not only able to scan the moa in the scanner simulation but i was able to track and scan the 3 elite arid lancers on mars. I don't know if they fixed the problem or if its something else but yall should probably give it another go. Side Note: If you are having trouble with finding the arid lancers themselves like I was, first go to simaris and make sure you dont have a daily quest activated for him, then run the synthesis simulation, if you are able to complete the simulation, go to the mission on mars. What usually happens there is first Lotus will say something about the objective, then a few seconds later simaris tells you there is an enemy to be synthesized. If this happens, hold up the scanner and look for little blue and yellow particles which will lead you to it. Note that sometimes the target may be behind a door that wont open until you complete the main mission objective, so if the particles lead you to a door that wont open with no lights, complete the main objective first, then come back. When you find the target, synthesis it as you normally would. If simaris does not say that there is a target to be synthesized, abort the mission and come back. I'm sorry this was so lengthy, but I hope it helped.

Wow I just realised my "Side Note" was like 4/5 of the paragraph.

this thing is a pain, sometimes they will appear out of bounds, sometimes you cant finalize the scan.

Hope that gets fixed at some point, if it was not necessary to advance a quest I would have gave up long ago.
