secondly, comparing Warframe to WoW is like comparing 2 pieces of toast to a full-course breakfast meal, they're similar in concept, but how you play them is completely different
Respawning enemies makes taking cover unreliable, but it's still something to take advantage of. It's also important to really get the hang of the mobility system. That takes practice, but even enemies with hit-scan weapons don't track your movements perfectly, so if you're mobile enough, you won't recieve as much damage. Once you get mods to generate energy and lower the costs of your powers, you'll also be able to give those enemies a taste of their own bullets.
There is a lot more to it than stats. But it is more action and movement based. It is all kill based. There are similar things too ... understanding how things work to create a build that works well takes a bit of know how. There are cookie cutters here too but there are a LOT more unique setups here. Between the many, many viable weapon selections, the good # of useful mods, and the number of frames (classes, sorta?) it is hard to find 2 people just alike. There are some unpopular and less good picks, but even most of those are still viable for most content. You sure can't raid wow** in just any old gear and setup ... you can do that here, if you are good enough to make it work.
Mag isnt a tank frame, and new players don't have high ranked shield mods and armor and all that stuff to stand there taking hits. While the guy above says mag is poor as a starter, I found this to not be true and would never go back and trade her for the other starters. Pull alone can get you past many planets by outright killing everything on the screen even things you can't see hiding behind walls etc. It costs less power for its aoe size and damage than just about anything else and certainly better than anything else you can get for a while. She is good, but again, without mods she isnt going to tank.
As others said, keep moving, use cover, get some mods and learn the game. But if you wanted an MMO, you are in the wrong game.
** I left wow as they were moving from 40 man to 20 man and smaller content. I speak of the 40 man raids and difficult content that took hours of focused effort by a large, well geared group to complete.
KEEP ROLLING ROLLINGR ROLLING ROLLING
what? WHAT!?
WoW is MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.)
Two seperate genres only similar in the fact that they both have grind and multiplayer.
