Anyways, many better weapons have a minimum Mastery Rank requirement before you're even allowed to use them (the current highest MR requirement for a weapon is 14 for Euphona Prime, and no doubt more weapons will keep being introduced over time with higher and higher MR requirements). Additionally, the amount of syndicate standing you can gain from sigils in one day is capped based on your MR; the higher your rank, the more standing you can get per day. The beginning mod capacity for unranked weapons and warframes is also tied to MR; while this isn't as relevant in the long run since max-ranked gear will always have 30 mod capacity (60 with catalyst/reactor), it does give you a little boost by letting you put a few mods on before you go to level that gear. The cap on the number of Void Traces you can have at once for relic refinement is also tied to MR. Same for the number of player-to-player trades you're allowed to do per day. And of course there's the MR requirements for Riven mods.
Everyone likes handicaps and being weaker than the other guy right? Even though mr is not difficult to rank up. Anyway dont even bother since you cant handle getting past mr5 itll just get harder after all in terms of progression and playing games.
