Dragon Nikana Vs. Nikana Prime

Is there a noticeable improvement between dragon nikana and nikana prime? To me, Dragon Nikana is the best looking one-handed sword in this game so I am willing to tolerate if there is not a big difference between them.

if you are mainly using Excalibur's 4th the base weapon wont matter at all, only the mods put on it (correct me if i'm wrong)

0.08 faster attack speed
slightly higher damage(less puncture more slash)
higher crit and status chance
lower block effectivnes(only 60% compared to Dragon Nikana's 85%)
nice looking guard

I also think that the dragon nikana looks better than the prime nikana, but the prime nikana is better so i bought the ryu skin and it looks amazing now.

There is, but I don't think it matters. Nikanas are fashion frame weapons anyway, if you care about actual usability you don't use them.

I too use Dragon Nikana on my Excal, his 4 scales only with mods and weapon type so stats don't matter.

I would go straight for the primed version tbh for the crits. I've got a dragon myself and honestly I wished I farmed the primed earlier. But of course I'm a lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥ so I built a Lesion.

It may not be best thing ever (although, I have never seen 2 people agreeing on best melee weapon), but it's really really good.

I bought the sheath skin just now for dragon nikana after making my decision, it looks so nice now. Happy with it!
