3x 30seconds combo riven with sentinel active

So, I got this riven and thought it'd be a breeze. But damn, it's glitched or something. I used body count on war with reach to make it easier, and I got to 3x combo in no time (sentinel was still alive). It was survival, so I just looked at the timer to see when 30 seconds passed. 2 full minutes after I hit 3x, I extracted. Riven didn't complete.

So, what's the issue here? What am I doing wrong? Or is it really glitched?

There is that. One other thing to consider is what exactly the challenge on the riven said. If it said to have specifically an active companion, then you're probably going to have to bring a kubrow or kavat. That's what I experienced, at least.

I did equip it, yes. I did eqquip a kubrow after trying with helios, same results.

It is companion riven, so it needs a kavat/kubrow and not a sentinel.

agree. i did some challenges in team, but most i do in solo mode since it is far more predictable in terms of enemies, killingblows and numbers of enemies - not to mention the chances of hosts getting swichted and such anoyances.
as for the OPs problem: the combo is quite easy to do when you use a weapon like a whip with max reach (e.g. the secura lecta with a primed reach can hit targets upto 14m - and multiple enemies in one swing at this). bodycont or drifting contact are of an necessity, but you mentioned that you use it, so that's just for log. if you by chance have the telos boltace, and the mod that let every proc increase your combo counter too, then you only need a very short time reaching x3 in the counter - especially when fighting enemies with a lot of hitpoints. the waves from the telos boltace will do guaranteed slash procs in a wide range, and every tick of slash bleeding will rise the counter. in the simulacrum i used this (for testing) once against lvl 140 tomb guardians to reach a 64k combo within 10 min - and even in the "wild" during sorties it's easy to get x3 with this silly thing.
as for where to equip the riven, if you can equip it in a sentinel and companion, then both is viable - as long as it is veiled of course. it's the same way as with rifle or pistol rivens.
to see, if you meet all conditions to unveil the riven, you will get the little notice at the mission start or after you gone into the menue (ESC) and back into the game - if there is none such notice, something went wrong - might be a condition that you failed in the current mission or even one that isn't displayed on the mod - in which case you should fill in a ticket to the support.

Meh experipment it easy using those sentries in the kuva forteresse, they count toward combo but are invulnerable when there is no alarm

It worked after doing it 9 times. Same thing, same loadout. It's just hit and miss.

What you should do is hit mission progress and close it. Bottom will show the status of the riven challenge, so there's no guessing games. If it doesn't show at all some conditions arent being met like not equipping a dragon key when asked to.

Quite the necro

put combo duration mods like body count and drifting contact
then go to lua ext mission you can reach 3x very easilly
and last think use a polearm with good damage and primed reach
