Grineer has weapons wich deals bonus damage to shields and if their weapons status procs then you gonna bleed.
My suggestion: if you are new to the game and dont really have good mods try to use the right warframe against the enemy eg:mag is the bane of corpus, valkyr is very good against grineer
Also I recommend you to lvl up the 3 survive mods (steel fiber, redirection, vitality) or at least the one you need.
I hope I helped.
No it doesnt because the armor simpy decreases the damage taken to health.
I did explain it wrong, sorry.
Let me rephrase that:
Grineer has weapons that ignores a percent of your armor so your health takes more damage.
This percent CAN go up to almost 100%, meaning you will take the full damage from their attacks.
Sorry again for the wrong explanation earlier.
As you i play Mag/Valkyr a lot and i can assure you that i can see a clearly difference of damage taken. (Talking about lvl 60+) 40 and less i can clearly afk as Valkyr ^^^^ ( Got 1140 armor ) http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Valkyr Look at " warcry" ability. Try to always be under Warcry.
About mods I'm just playing with Rage, Intensify, Vitality, Steel fiver and Flux. Rage could be a difficult mods to own, I dont even remember how and when i got it :p ( MR 9 for 250hrs+ )
As Mag mods, you need at least, Redirection(Rank 6-7+), Flux, Stretch, Intensify and Streamline ( Stream line rank 3-4 is good ) and try to get " Continuity " . The best mods for Mag is " Shield transference " but it take so long to get it, really long
