By all means.You can use any weapon you want.Primes are just direct upgrades of specified weapons so up to you what you want to use. When you hit higher level enemies and maybe you;ll start needing if when you need the firepower

mate, you are really new to the game with "only" 84 hours... so to make it clear, no you don't need any prime frames or weapon do missions, but all kinds of mods and formas (and also catalysts/reactors) with those you can even make starter gear (mk1-xxx) viable for high level missions.
BUT you will get automatically to the point where you not only want to use different frames/weapons for different missions, but also will get prime versions of them too. you can of course trade prime parts then for platinum (to buy more slots for equipment and stuff) but if you want to reach the highst mastery level, you'll need to keep the prime parts, get the full sets, build them and level the frame/weapon/sentinel at least once to level 30 to get the mastery points. if you don't noticed by now, you only ever get mastery points ONCE per equipment - and that also goes for normal and prime versions of something (even for the mk-1 stuff) -> each of it will get you mr-points... once (formating and re-leveling won't give any more).
so, if you want to reach the top mastery, then yes, you will need prime frames/weapons.

Primes are basicly just slightly better versions of weapons and warframes, however just using items called "forma" on them will make them much better. Remember: Mods make the weapon, not vise-versa! Also, if you want a really good primary weapon, think about getting the Hek, its a shotgun with ungodly damage for when you can get it, plus it has a exclusive mod for it called "Scattered Justice", google it and you wont need anything else for endgame, even prime weapons.

Playing solo is easier than in a group sicne less mobs spwan. However, it takes longer to level stuff up since well there are less mobs spawning you also get less loot since there are less mobs to drop loot. You never have to get a prime anything but there is no reason not too. for the most part primed frames are just fancier looking versions of teh none prime with a few small stat boosts negligible really. primed weapons can be decent upgrades though. PRimed things are quite easy to farm as long as they are not currently vaulted.

Most important things though are mods Primed mods and corrupted mods are a huge boost to your frames and weapons. Also dont try to limit yourself to one frame you should try to get all of them it will take awhile but its worth it . The diversty of playstyle is great.

using a steam controller and been realy focused on bullet jumps and slide attacks, primaraly malay. mobility buffs are my thing and i chuck some spira from the hip i dont stop to aim.

have a helmint charger with me also, going with sheild regen and heath link for the dog.

if i never stand still we do just fine

of course you can! you don't really need a prime. by using catalyst/reactor on weapons and warframes and forma you can make everything good, especialy warframes. prime warframes just have a little more sprint speed, armor and energy. most players are after them because they are cooler looking and the small upgrades are a bonus! you can definitely enjoy this game and kick ars without any primes!

its the same for all the cosmetics ya can buy, they look awful to me and i don't want to buy them.

Prime items are usually a little bit better than their regular counterparts, but they are just as much for collecting and showing off.. There are lots of weapons that are equally as, or more, powerful than prime guns

Many of the strongest weapons aren't even primes.

Like, Sancti Tigris or Synoid Simulor or Tonkor.

They are directly better than normal versions but are not required for results.

primes are literally a small upgrade in most cases, it won't effect your output... an oberron prime and an oberron will preform about the same, just oby prime will have more armor and energy so they are upgrades BUT not massive upgrades in most cases.
