Chroma - How does it work?
So today after a lot of hard work and toil I finally got Chroma built and finished.

Wearing it felt awesome, then 10 seconds later I thought "The heck does it do?!"

I main Rhino Prime. It's simple. Iron skin, stomp stuff, roar when allies are near, shoot stuff, revive everyone else cause I ain't getting downed anytime soon, repeat. Simple.

But Chroma is different, with abilities that do more stuff then I'm used to, and I have zero clue what it is I'm suppose to mod this warframe with.

One person said "HP, Armor, Duration, Power Strength. Get the RAGE Mod if I can."

Then there's the Elemental based on his energy color (Fire, Ice, Electric, Poison) but I have zero clue what is best for what

What does Chroma do better/worst then Rhino Prime? When I got it, a friend said "Say goodbye to all your other warframes" so... they're hyping it up, I'm just trying to see it.

Coming from someone who loves Chroma, I don't think it's "say goodbye to your other frames" because he needs a rework. He's still completely viable though.
His 1 is terrible, don't ever use it. His 4 is okay CC, lets you run faster, and boosts credit drops. His 2 and 3 and the stars.

Elemental Ward(2) is an AoE buff, based on the element you pick for Chroma(change your energy color to do this). Electric and toxic are used for damage and teammate buff builds. Heat buffs health, but is inferior to Cold for tanking, as Cold buffs armor and has the nice side effect of reflecting bullets.

Vex Armor(3) is your main tank ability. While active it gives you the Scorn and Fury buffs. Scorn increases your armor as you take shield damage, maxing out after losing 400 shields. Fury increases your weapon damage as you take health damage, maxing out after losing 100 health.

Combining strength mods, armor mods, Cold Elemental Ward, and maxed Scorn buff, you get Ice Tank Chroma, who can reach absurd amounts of armor, so much that 97% or more of damage you take is negated.
I should warn you, doing this and having the buff last longer than 25 seconds requires a lot of work, multiple high-end mods, and several formas.

Of course there are other builds for him, such as buffing your teammates, but Ice Tank is the one I've used enough to talk about.

Make your energy color white, build for duration and strength, use your 2 and 3, use Kulstar or some other self damaging wep to boost your dmg. Make sure you also have Medi-Ray on your sentinel or some other way to heal yourself.

Using hirudo for healing also helps since Rage is not very effective when you ignore almost all damage which means you cant rely on Life Strike so much.

1 of my builds for chroma is a near max strength.(all strength mods, some not maxed)
and when you hit the max of the buff he is nearly unkillable, give him hirudo and he becomes even harder to kill. plus the damage out put gets insane, able to kill level 145 heavy gunners with ease with my rivened amprex(headshots only though) without chroma it handles lvl 50-60 farily well, just for comparison.

i beleive on a devstream chroma was mentioned along side limbo and couple others i think, maybe zephyr and hydroid but im not postive on that, for a rework or touch up on abiltys.

(this was several months back, before we had any idea what limbos rework was like)

Chroma is all about regenerating faster then you take damage in, then turning that damage that you take in and spitting it in the enemies faces x1000000000.

There are a couple different ways to run Chroma, and some levels of difficulty in running him.

For Godmode Tank> For this you will need alot of end game mods and arcanes.
Elemental Alignment is Ice, (this will buff your armour, grant a skin that bounces progectiles off you, freezes enemies that get hit by ricochets and add a damage multiplier to your weapons/abilities)
Need Arcane Grace and Gaurdian set (my preference, others use barrier or similar ones)
Elemental Ward augment (to extend to team mates)
Mod for Max duration and power stregth

Main Abilities are 2 and 3, alternativly casting ot keep both of them up at all times with an overlap on the timers inbetween casts.

ShockTrooper Chroma> Geared for melle play
Elemental alignment> Electric (this will buff shields, give you the highest damage multiplier buff possible ingame and emit sparks that shock nearby enemies)

Elemental WArd Augment

Mod for medium range, high duration and stregth
Main Abilities are 2 and 3, alternativly casting ot keep both of them up at all times with an overlap on the timers inbetween casts.

Defense Sentry/credit farming>
Elemental Alighnment> Ice (deals highest damage)

Use 4 to create a dragon sentry that stuns enemies, kills them with dragon breath, boosts credit pickups and drops

Mod for Duration and efficency, power stregth
